Parkland dad sends tough message to parents after schoolchildren massacre: ‘It’s your responsibility’

Reacting to the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, a parent of a Parkland, Fla., victim is encouraging moms and dads to take more responsibility for the safety of their offspring.

School-safety proponent Andrew Pollack began the discussion with Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Tuesday evening by admitting that he was “so angry that I’m practically shaking right now at what happened and what these parents have to deal with.”

“What I advocate a lot – because I get a lot of messages from parents — it’s the parents. It’s your responsibility where you send your children to school. You have to know now after these shootings — and every week there’s a shooting, whether it’s at a school or in a supermarket — that you need to check where your kids go to school. You need to go back to the school and see. Is there a single point of entry? Do you have guards at the school?,” Pollack told the host of “The Ingraham Angle.”

Andrew Pollack’s daughter Meadow was tragically murdered in the Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting on February 14, 2018.

In the conversation with Ingraham, he went on to suggest that private schools, assuming parents can afford the tuition, may be a better option.

“I got a message tonight that made me feel kind of good from someone. They told me, ‘Thanks.’ They thanked me because they listened to me, and they took their kid out of public school and put them in a private school, because a lot of these private schools, they take security way more serious. So, parents, it’s your responsibility where you bring your children. And you have to know.”

During the segment, Ingraham lamented the virtue-signaling, gun-control-pushing Democrats who sought to immediately politicize the tragedy, even as violent crime surges in liberal-controlled enclaves throughout America, and even as the Biden administration (which has thrown open the U.S. southern border), with the approval of both Democrats and Republicans in Congress, is engaging in a taxpayer-funded spending spree in eastern Europe.

“We have $40 billion to send over to Ukraine to protect their borders, but we can’t protect our children in our country…how many policemen could we have paid with $40 billion to be at schools, or to put in the glass that we need, or the metal detectors in some areas, or bullet-proof glass…we could use it here in this country,” Pollack asserted.

“Americans are suffering,” he added.

“We have money, but we’re spending it in all the wrong places,” Ingraham agreed as she wrapped up the discussion, having opined to Pollack earlier in the segment that many local communities have yet to put safety measures in place for reasons of “budget” or “desire” or for other reas0ns.

At the outset of the colloquy, Pollack noted that after the Parkland incident, “we put a commission together in Florida to look into all the failures, and this district in Texas didn’t learn anything of what happened to my daughter.”

“How hard could it be to have a single point of entry and armed policeman or highly trained teachers at the school? Even the single point of entry would prevent it. It just angers me; this thing didn’t have to happen today,” he insisted.

Details are still unfolding as to what security measures were in place at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.

Some school districts in Texas have implemented a voluntary concealed-carry program for teachers.

  1. Meanwhile…. MSDNC is having the OTHER Parkland dad on telling Cruz to F himself.

  2. Andrew Pollack’s book “Why Meadow Died” should be mandatory reading for all parents and legislators. That was the first book in many years that I could not put down until I read it all! It taught me tons about why our schools are death traps for our children. I have said before and I’ll say it til I die “People that love their children do not send them to public schools”! As a sidenote, this shooting ramped up after Obama installed his “education czar” from Chicago to institute the PROMISE program the forbids most discipline on campus and forbids ALL arrests for crimes committed on campus! It is insane!

Back in my day we had ROTC and even rifle teams in high school and there were no school shootings. We were taught right from wrong. This all started when the school eliminated God, discipline, and patriotism from our schools.

  3. Word has it JUST LIKE PARKLAND SHOOTING THE COPS FAILED TO ENGAGE SUSPECT BEFORE HE GOT INTO THE BUILDING WHILE HE WAS ARMED AND OUTSIDE. THEY HAD THIS WHACKJOB ALREADY SECURED THEN LET HIM ESCAPE.

NEVER FORGET THE LIES WE WERE TOLD DURING THE PARKLAND AND SANDY HOOK SHOOTINGS!!!!

    1. American Wire News!!!

Outrage at reports cops engaged gunman before he entered Texas school, border patrol agent rushed in later.

LEOs LIE, and when your govt has an agenda, your govt lies to you consistently every single time.
