Reporter Sharyl Attkisson asks for a sincere explanation of Biden’s face-mask habits

Independent journalist Sharyl Attkisson, a former CBS News investigative correspondent, took to Twitter to request a reasonable explanation about POTUS Joe Biden’s face-mask habits.

President Biden is wearing a mask outside. He walks up to press corps, takes down the mask, and talks to them. Please explain the purpose of the mask,” she wrote, which is probably a clarification about the ongoing inconsistency also sought by millions of Americans.

When one of those responding described it as possible “theater,” (a word that has often come up in the context of various COVID-19-related measures), Attkisson — who has done a lot of non-ideological reporting on vaccine safety and efficacy, masks, and other public policy issues — wondered the following: “But wouldn’t the theatre require him to wear it when he’s talking close to people?”

Biden also mingled with lawmakers and others at last week’s congressional baseball game without wearing a mask.

To suggest that the list of elected, follow-the-science Democrats from Biden on down who have been caught on video disregarding their own mask edicts and/or pleas for social distancing is very long might be an understatement.

This also includes mostly liberal, pro-mask elites, such as those who attended the recent Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles where an indoor mask mandate is in effect, or at the Met Gala in New York City. Many in this cohort are aggressive mask-shamers.

Democrats, including Biden, moreover, were pictured dutifully donning face masks during the 20th anniversary of 9/11 at a memorial ceremony photo-op and then taking them off and ignoring social distancing the minute they believed the cameras had left.

Under its campus indoor mask-wearing rule, Harvard University, the prestigious and very left-wing Ivy League institution, recommended keeping the mask on even while eating in the dining hall with brief interludes for quick-sip and consume and cover.

According to the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “Correct and consistent mask use is a critical step everyone can take to prevent getting and spreading COVID-19.”

Apart from other rules that may be in effect, the agency recommends masks “in crowded outdoor settings and for activities with close contact with others who are not fully vaccinated” and “indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.”

With regard to White House theater, which is a common thread, influential podcaster Joe Rogan has suggested that Biden’s third COVID shot, the so-called booster, may have been delivered via an empty syringe.

It remains to be seen if White House press secretary Jen Psaki will ever circle back and elucidate on Biden’s mask tendencies. In the meantime, Attkisson’s inquiry about his on-again, off-again, mask use prompted a sizable reaction on Twitter. Here is a representative selection:
