A woman wearing little, if any, clothes who allegedly took off in a police car after grappling with a Chicago cop reportedly faces numerous charges, including attempted first-degree murder.
Cops encountered the woman on Monday morning upon being dispatched to a call about a woman “naked, intoxicated, and threatening to hit people in the street,” the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
According to prosecutors, “After finding [the woman] laying in the street and partially clothed, the officer got out of his marked SUV to check on her and called for an ambulance…[she] later jumped into the officer’s SUV as he tried to stop her, but she gunned the car in reverse, dragging the officer with the car and causing him to hit his head on a parked vehicle,” the news outlet added.
As part of what might seem like a sequence from an implausible, direct-to-streaming action movie rather than real life, the suspect allegedly got into several crashes while behind the wheel of the squad car before she was apprehended shortly thereafter following a brief foot chase.
Much of the chaotic scene was captured on video that can be seen below:
The woman’s lawyer said he had “reason to believe” that his client, a mom and hard-working tax accountant, 34, was a victim of a sexual assault before the incident with the police, and which explained why she was partially garmentless “as well as her erratic behavior.”
The very lucky officer, 47, avoided serious injury other than reportedly requiring six stitches for a gash on his head. He was treated at a local hospital and released the same day.
The suspect, identified by several media outlets as Whitley Temple, received a psychological evaluation at the same hospital that rendered treatment to the officer.
She allegedly “tested positive for benzodiazepine, a type of psychoactive medication, and cannabinoids, which can include marijuana or CBD,” prosecutors claimed.
The police investigation into what was the source of this incident is ongoing. In addition to several additional felony charges such as aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, vehicular hijacking, and possession of a stolen law enforcement vehicle, the suspect was allegedly driving on a suspended license and with no insurance.
Watch a report aired by WGN:
The occurrence in the crime-ridden city presided over by far-left Mayor Lori Lightfoot prompted a lot of reactions of all kinds on social media, including the officer’s apparent reluctance to apprehend the woman.
Here is just a sampling:
Umm… you kind of have to in order to keep the lights on and radio working.

He couldn’t figure out how to detain her and that’s the problem in Chicago Illinois I don’t know why the police bother showing up because the mayor won’t allow them to do anything

I think he didn’t wanna touch & grab her body in the fashion it would’ve taken to forcefully grab & stop her. Can’t say I blame him. He could’ve been killed here though.

What did he think she was going to do? Cops are so afraid to react to situations. He’s lucky to be alive

How in gods name did that cop let that lady take his car? Unreal
Is this the competency of cops in Chicago?

He didn’t want to get to close because then she would scream rape

3 years ago, she wouldn’t have gotten close enough to the door to open it. We can thank BLM for the police having too much tolerance.

That cop also needs to be behind a desk pushing paper.

All suspects are presumed innocent until or unless they are convicted in a court of law of any alleged crimes.

He should have tased her naked ass.
Presumably she wasn’t bald and had enough hair to grab onto, but since she was blocked out I can’t assume that. I’ve seen enough bald women around here already.
With all that bare skin, a Taser would have settled her right down.
Once again, the “experts” in the Twitterverse are quick to make fun of this cop. None of them were there, they don’t know what the cop saw before he got out of his cruiser and his bodycam showed what transpired. Besides, it’s a lot easier to grab someone who’s clothed than a naked person, especially if there are body fluids all over her. If the cop wasn’t wearing nitrile gloves (and why would he?), he’s not going to want to touch her. JMO
I agree, 3 years ago this wouldn’t have been an issue. Thank him for all the stupidity & the democrats for putting it in place.
These days, most any cop in that, or a similar, situation would have to also be thinking about what potential charges ambulance chasers could bring against HIM for having to physically (man)handle this, or any woman in a similar state, especially if their local jurisdiction has removed the forms of immunity they have enjoyed for years.
Let’s just face it, Chicago has become the S#!T#0LE with big shoulders. FJB
Shorthaired grayish woman with bulging eyes and a bad attitude. Hmm
I thought it was Lightfoot. Just saying
It’s called attempted murder and this lying crack whore needs to rot in prison for a while.
You are relying on an anti-cop DA to file and pursue charges.
I do believe if she were sexually assaulted,a stop at the hospital would of cleared that lie right up, you thunk,,,,,,,FJB,,,,,,,
