Chris Hayes mercilessly mocked for declaring GOP would be behave worse if it had smaller SCOTUS majority

MSNBC host Chris Hayes doesn’t seem to be very adept at Twitter punditry.

Just a few days after getting roasted for tweeting, without evidence, that the current so-called conservative Supreme Court majority was “dubiously obtained,” he is getting beclowned for another silly pronouncement about the high court in a what-if scenario.

“MSNBC’s Chris Hayes was mocked Wednesday for claiming Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee would be behaving far worse towards Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson if there were a smaller conservative majority on the court than the current 6-3 split,” Fox News noted.

“Can you IMAGINE what they would be doing if this was the fifth seat of a 5-4 majority,” Hayes asked rhetorically on the social media platform.

The blue-check liberal is apparently triggered by the way GOP senators on the Judiciary Committee are questioning Judge Jackson, President Joe Biden’s nominee to replace the retiring Justice Stephen Breyer, on her judicial record and philosophy, which is the whole idea of the hearings.

Many of the substantive questions centered on the judge’s alleged soft-on-crime approach in the context of lenient sentencing of child pornographers or her alleged stealth support for critical race theory.

Hayes, obviously, is “all in” (which happens to be the name of his ratings-challenged show) on Jackson’s confirmation.

Judge Jackson is a favorite of far-left activists, which is likely why Biden selected her instead of someone perceived as a moderate, such as Judge Michelle Childs.

Hayes seemed to be overlooking that Democrats typically throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at Republican judicial nominees, including — but not in any way limited to — now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The way the Dems trashed Reagan nominee Judge Robert Bork back in 1987 created a new verb for this kind of mistreatment: Borking.

Dems also tried to derail the nominations of Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito with scurrilous allegations.

The Democrats, including then-Sen. Joe Biden filibustered for about two years the nomination of Judge Janice Rogers Brown (a possible future Supreme Court nominee at the time) to the D.C. Court of Appeals, and blocked highly-respected attorney Miguel Estrada, another potential high court pick, from ever getting an up-or-down vote at all for the D.C. Circuit.

“Critics took to social media to mock Hayes, reminding him of how Justice Brett Kavanaugh was treated by Democrats during his 2018 confirmation hearing, when his confirmation to replace longtime swing vote Anthony Kennedy was viewed as cementing a 5-4 conservative majority,” Fox News added.

As alluded to above, here is a selection of the responses to Hayes which doesn’t leave much to the imagination, as it were (*warning for language):
