Chelsea Handler gives Joy Reid a run for her money on achieving peak stupidity over Manchin let down

Condescending liberals are still experiencing political PTSD after U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WVA.) announced that he is a no vote on the massive Biden administration spending spree known as the Build Back Better plan.

Case in point: Joy Reid, MSNBC’s resident conspiracy theorist and COVID alarmist, the Harvard University graduate that Tucker Carlson has dubbed “the race lady” and Jason Whitlock has renamed Racial Maddow.

The now-repentant Andrew Cuomo fangirl and comedienne  Chelsea Handler also chimed in, but both discovered that social media was hardly receptive to their insight, such as it is, about current events.

Manchin has said of BBB that “if I can’t go home and explain it to the people of West Virginia, I can’t vote for it,” particularly underscoring the already-soaring, rampant inflation that is harming his constituents.

Reid took to Twitter with another apparent conspiracy theory, which also contained a not-so-veiled reference to GOP Sens. Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul of Kentucky in addition to Manchin.

“Anybody ever wonder: how can West Virginia and Kentucky have such powerful United States Senators repping them yet be so overwhelmingly poor? Somebody’s getting that money, and it ain’t ordinary West Virginians and Kentuckians… just a thought…”

Obviously, poverty (and other social ills) is also in many jurisdictions controlled by Democrats, including those blue enclaves within red states.

Handler followed Reid’s take with this brilliance:

According to the Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank that has also faced criticism from the populist right as well as the left, “the Biden administration’s top legislative priority—the so-called Build Back Better plan—is a $3.5 trillion patchwork of taxes, mandates, job-killing regulations, and social welfare entitlements that will only exacerbate the supply-side issues plaguing the economy.”

Manchin could, perhaps, change his mind, especially if the Democrats revise/downsize their proposal to his liking, although common sense suggests that more budgetary smoke and mirrors would be involved to make that happen. The bill won’t come up for a vote in Congress until January 2022 at the earliest.

Separately, pop diva Bette Midler had to apologize for metaphorically singing from the anti-West Virginia chorus after commenting negatively on Twitter about Manchin’s decision.

Social media users are calling out the “ReidOut” host for her “thought.” Here is a sampling:

Not to be outdone, Handler offered her take that the senator was possibly less popular than the latest COVID-19 variant. “Congrats to Joe Manchin for competing to be more hated than omicron this holiday season,” she wrote on Twitter.

It did not go well for her either, however.
