Psaki dances around questions on Biden physical exam: ‘I don’t have an update for you, but will soon’

President Joe Biden is expected to pay a visit to the doctor where he will be subjected to a physical examination in the near future, although no official date has been set for the assessment of the health of the leader of the free world.

Biden, the oldest man to hold the presidency will turn 79 in November and despite his frequent fits of coughing, questions about his condition have been absent from the same media that obsessed over the health of former President Donald J. Trump, often engaging in wild speculation that he may not be well.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed that Biden would undergo the physical but declined to provide a specific date, only saying that it would be in the future while responding to a question from Brian Karem, the former senior White House correspondent for Playboy magazine, at the end of Thursday’s briefing.

As she wrapped up her daily session on Thursday, the reporter asked, “Hey Jen, will he take a physical anytime soon and report it to the American public?”

Psaki responded, “He will,” She then danced around a follow-up by the reporter, who asked, “How soon, do we know?”

“I don’t have an update for you, but will soon.”

The reporter pressed, “But before the end of the year?”

She answered, “I promise you. Kelly asks about this all the time. He’s keeping us on our toes.” Referring to NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell.

Psaki was also put on the spot earlier in the week about when Biden will be examined.

The reporter asked, “And another thing we keep asking you about: the President’s physical. Last month, you said it would be soon. We’re now in October. Do you have any update? And why is it taking so long? Is the President just very busy?”

Psaki ducked the question, “He is very busy, but it…but it is standard for every President to get a physical.” She said, “He will get a physical too. When he gets a physical, we will make all of that information available to all of you.

“Do you still plan on it being this year… for the physical… this year?” Asked the reporter.

Psaki remained vague, “Yeah, absolutely. Thanks, everyone.”

Last week, the administration’s ace spinmeister couldn’t be pinned down by Karem who tried in vain to get an answer on Biden’s coughing.

“Jen, we saw him coughing and sniffling earlier. Is his health okay? Before there’s wild speculation — is he all right?” asked Karem, one of Trump’s frequent antagonists.

Psaki replied, “He is doing great.” She added, “He’s got some allergies.”

Questions about the president’s health are legitimate given his age and the fact that former President Bill Clinton, who is nearly four years younger than the current White House occupant was just hospitalized.

Then there is the coughing, like when he hacked his way through a speech on behalf of California Governor Gavin Newsom just before the recall election.

Given the administration’s lack of transparency as well as a proclivity to constantly move the goalposts, it may well be that Biden’s physical will remain in an indefinite state of limbo, just like the State Of The Union address.
