It’s received almost zero coverage from the mainstream establishment press, which has instead been preoccupied with the fake “whip” story, but several Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were assaulted by Haitian deportees on Tuesday.
To its credit, NBC News broke the story. However, as of Wednesday, it appeared that Fox News was the only other network to pick it up.
According to NBC News, after a U.S. flight containing deported “single adult men” arrived in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, “unrest broke out” and several of the disgruntled men “stormed another recently arrived flight carrying families.”
“Some even tried unsuccessfully to get back on a plane returning to the U.S.,” according to Fox News.
“The men assaulted the pilots of that plane, who work for a government contractor licensed to fly deportation flights for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, while the families were still on board. Three ICE officers were also attacked on that plane, each suffering non-life-threatening injuries,” NBC News reported, citing a source.
The skirmish reportedly ended when Haitian crowd control officers moved in to re-establish control. In a stunning statement issued to NBC News following the incident, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson acknowledged the violent attack but seemingly defended it.
“ICE fully respects the rights of all people to peacefully express their opinions, while continuing to perform its immigration enforcement mission consistent with our priorities, federal law and agency policy,” the spokesperson said.
It’s not clear what the right to peaceful protest — which, as a reminder, is for U.S. citizens — has to do with violent deportees in another country.
Meanwhile, NBC News’ anonymous source within the administration said that, after the skirmish Tuesday, some within DHS “worry that they do not have enough security at the airports to safely land deportation flights,” as reported by NBC.
The skirmish comes amid the much louder but ultimately fake narrative about Border Patrol agents using “whips” on the throngs of Haitian migrants — all of them seemingly male — trying to illegally enter the U.S. across the southern border.

The entire institutional left latched on to the narrative and, as usual, the narrative has since been shown to be total bunk.
Even Vice President Kamala Harris, the Biden administration official who’s supposed to be in charge of the border crisis, fell for the narrative hook, line and sinker.
“What I saw depicted about those individuals on horseback treating human beings the way they were is horrible. And I fully support what is happening right now, which is a thorough investigation into exactly what is going on there. Human beings should never be treated that way. And I’m deeply troubled about,” she said to the press Tuesday.
She then seemingly blamed the United States for the influx of Haitians at the border, suggesting it’s a result of America not supporting the Haitian people’s “basic needs.”
“The whole point is that we have to understand Haiti … I mean, talk about a country that has just experienced so much tragedy … and we really have to do a lot more to recognize that as a member of the western hemisphere, we’ve got to support some very basic needs that the people of Haiti have to get back up,” she said.
Not mentioned by her was the counterpoint from conservatives that the entire border crisis is a result of this very mindset that says the United States owes people of other sovereign nations something, including perhaps even citizenship.
Indeed, the $3.5 billion entitlement boondoggle being pursued by the White House and congressional Democrats explicitly carves out amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.
To Republicans, it’s therefore no wonder then that migrants from across the world, including Haiti, have desperately been flooding the border.
THOUSANDS of illegal aliens are camped out under a Texas bridge, rushing to America because they know the Democrats want to give them amnesty. The border crisis is OUT OF CONTROL. Tell Democrats to abandon their amnesty plans and secure our border. https://t.co/VWUSme2N3f

Even after 208k illegal immigrants were apprehended at the border in August, Democrats in D.C. don’t care about securing the border.
That’s why they are pushing for amnesty in their $3.5 trillion reckless tax-and-spending spree.

In a floor speech delivered Tuesday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy bluntly said the Democrats’ “radical immigration policies” are to blame.
“The vice president often says we need to examine ‘root causes’ to solve the border crisis. Well, the chaos in Del Rio confirms that those root causes are Democrats’ radical immigration policies. It’s time for Congress to hold this administration accountable and secure the border,” he said.
“We need to hear from those responsible for this failure, starting with the vice president. Right now, it seems she is more interested in visiting talk shows and football games than visiting the border. Madam Vice President – this isn’t a news cycle to hide from. It’s a humanitarian, national security, and public health crisis that must be stopped,” he added.
Harris’s remarks to the press Tuesday about the fake “whip” story was, in fact, the first time she’d spoken publicly about the border in God knows how long.
Concluding his floor speech, McCarthy added, “The American people need action and answers, not the largest amnesty plan in American history. Do your job before this crisis gets even worse.”
What’s happening at our southern border is a humanitarian, national security, and public health crisis that must be stopped.
