While the Biden administration keeps the pressure on more Americans to get the coronavirus vaccine as a rise in infections is attributed to the Delta variant, the feds reportedly are not testing illegal immigrants for COVID-19 as a condition of entering the country.
“This is incompetence at the highest level,” former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement director and Fox News contributor Tom Homan declared Monday in a hard-hitting interview while claiming that the Democrats are also playing politics regardless of the consequences.
Homan was on “Fox & Friends First” to react to the chaotic, mass-immigration surge created by Biden’s open-borders policy that has led to a law enforcement, humanitarian, and public health crisis.
Co-host Griff Jenkins noted that COVID-19 positive cases have reportedly increased a massive 900 percent in the Rio Grande Valley sector alone. In that context, he asked Homan if the administration runs the risk of “unleashing the Delta variant in an unprecedented way” if it doesn’t get control of the border.
“I absolutely agree,” Homan replied. “The northern border we have with Canada is still closed because of COVID, and the southern border is wide open…ICE has already had 7,500 positive COVID cases run through their system.
“Right now, as we’re speaking, they have nearly 1,200 active cases in custody right now that came across that border. So what really scares me is that nearly 300,000 got-aways this year, those who escaped apprehension, how many of them had COVID?,” he added about what might possibly be a super-spreader scenario.

It gets worse, Homan implied, because American citizens (and, by extension) legal residents are being held to a higher standard than illegal aliens.
“And we already know the U.S. government on purpose has released hundreds of COVID-positive people into the interior by either buying them a bus ticket or plane ticket and releasing them into the interior of the United States. This is simply incompetence at the highest level,” the ex-lawman continued.
“At the same time, they’re talking about Americans masking up, they’re talking about door-to-door vaccinations, the U.S. citizens being held accountable for COVID, but the southwest border is wide open.”

Upon taking office, President Joe Biden and his team halted border wall construction, ended the Remain in Mexico policy for asylum seekers, and brought back catch and release, among other decisions that reversed former President Trump’s effective border-enforcement security policies.
Co-host Jillian Mele pointed out that the potential public-health crisis is hardly restricted to the southern border region and impacts everyone.
“Yes. Because these people that are crossing illegally aren’t staying in Texas,” Homan agreed. “People need to understand, they’re going all over the country.
“I know for a fact because I was on an airplane from Rio Grande Valley to Dallas during my last visit to the Rio Grande Valley, and I watched at least 30 family units get on the plane, and they had plane tickets going all over the country — Boston, New York, Chicago, Denver. They’re heading all over the country. And the data clearly shows that the U.S. government is spreading them across the government when they release them.
“Not only COVID. On average, 20 percent of border apprehensions are actually convicted criminals; they have a criminal history. These people are being released all throughout the nation.”
Homan went on to insist that it is senseless for the Biden administration to spend a staggering $2 billion on halting border wall construction.
“If they would have just spent that $2 billion continuing that wall rather than just flushing it down the toilet, they would have less of an issue on the border. I’m not saying it would stop everybody from coming, but walls are designed to slow people down. The data’s clear; walls work…
“This is the first time in my lifetime that we have an administration that is not securing the border on purpose. Everything they have done is about setting the flow. They have not once, not one thing this administration has done, to slow the flow. They haven’t taken one enforcement action, one policy decision, to stop the flow. They just keep offering more and more incentives,” he continued.
The amnesty-championing Democrats want to create a new government-dependent voting bloc, Homan alleged.
“The progressive left has — they’ve taken control of the White House. They’ve taken control of the Department of Homeland Security and ICE. This is an open-border agenda. They want more people to come to this country because the end game is that they’re future Democratic voters, and they want an open border,” Homan concluded.
Fox News hosts Tucker Carlson and Jesse Watters have also articulated a similar premise. On a recent broadcast of “The Five,” for example, Watters decried the hypocrisy of the vaccine hawks in the Biden administration allowing unvaccinated illegal immigrants from all over the world, not just from Central America, to pour into the county in an open invitation designed to create more Democrat voters.
In a soundbite played at the beginning of the “Fox & Friends First” segment, Texas GOP Gov. Gregg Abbott said, with the deployment of National Guard troops and cops, that he is replacing Biden’s catch-and-release plan with catch and jail in his state.
