Given the reports about BLM co-founder and author Patrisse Khan-Cullors’ real estate portfolio, Megyn Kelly is joining those who have questions about how this property accumulation is consistent with a Marxist philosophy.
The independent journalist, whose views has trended more noticeably toward the right since launching her podcast, took to Twitter to wonder if, indeed, any ideological epiphany has occurred.
“Maybe she’s re-thinking capitalism after all. Maybe her millions of donors are re-thinking things too,” the former Fox News host wondered.
Kelly was sharing a typically irreverent New York Post front-page headline. According to the Post story, Khan-Cullors — who has previously admitted to being a trained Marxist — allegedly has amassed real estate holdings that total $3.2 million with four homes in the U.S, three in the Los Angeles area.
Parenthetically, if accurate, this may constitute a rare situation that runs counter to the presumptive get woke, go broke mantra.

Last year, she and her spouse reportedly purchased a home near Atlanta, which suggests they may not boycott Georgia over the new voting law.
Khan-Cullors has supposedly “eyed” property at an exclusive celebrity resort in the Bahamas where homes purportedly sell in the range of $5 million to $20 million.
It may be worth noting that in general, socialism frowns on private property rights. Moreover, while capitalism, particularly predatory capitalism, has its flaws (which partially explains the rise of the MAGA movement), socialism upon its implementation seldom puts one-percenters out of business. It merely creates a new elite group at that tier that can exploit their position for wealth and influence.
“The AP reported that Black Lives Matter took in $90 million in donations last year. It’s not clear if or how Cullors is paid by the organization, as its finances are opaque,” the Daily Mail asserted, a scenario which perhaps may have figured into Megyn Kelly’s thinking.

“Some fellow activists were taken aback by the real estate revelations. Hawk Newsome, the head of Black Lives Matter Greater New York City, called for ‘an independent investigation’ to find out how the global network spends its money,” the Post added.
“If you go around calling yourself a socialist, you have to ask how much of her own personal money is going to charitable causes. It’s really sad because it makes people doubt the validity of the movement and overlook the fact that it’s the people that carry this movement,” Newsome said, according to the Post story.
Journalist Asra Nomani has separately detailed how Cullors and her spouse have allegedly monetized social justice activism after setting up a “good capitalist consulting firm” that provides organizational guidance to increasingly woke corporate America.

While Cullors still has plenty of fans and defenders on social media who imply that there is nothing to see here, others tended to side with Megyn Kelly. Here is a sampling:
It’s a curious phenomena. When ‘Marxists’ get their hands on money, their first instinct is to use it to better their own lives. She has learned a thing or two about Maduro. I hope the donors realize they’ve been duped.

One day people will realize they’re all being played and that every wants to be rich. People are hypocrites and that’s why I respect people who are transparent in their pursuit of success and not people who put on a “show”.

It’s lucrative to claim to be a Marxist in a capitalist nation.

Just another case of “Do as I say, not as I do” leadership. It’s common among hypocrites who don’t have the convictions of their stated positions. The sad part of #DAISNAID leadership is imposters pretending to be something they’re not hurt the movements they claim to represent.

Marxists believe their ideas in theory but not in practice. Even Chomsky is a “brand”

I doubt Karl Marx would approve.
