Sen. Fetterman’s criticism of Graham Platner prompts question about campaigning for Susan Collins

As the controversy surrounding Graham Platner continues to grow, Laura Ingraham is wondering if any Democrats will do what needs to be done.

While talking to Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., one of Platner’s most vocal critics and one of the only Democrats willing to speak out against him, Ingraham openly asked if he would be willing to campaign for Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine. This would mean shacking up with Republicans against one of his own political peers, and it appears to be just a step too far for Fetterman.

“If he was a Republican, how would Democrats describe him? And the descriptions would be accurate for all of those things. They would declare that this guy is a degenerate. You know, he cheats on his wife and he has Nazi tattoos. You know, we’re the party of pearl-clutching, and now we’ve embraced it because, well, we don’t have a choice. Like, if you can’t really defend him, you could at least say, ‘Well, I mean, at least he has a D after his name.’ But he’s not even a Democrat,” Fetterman said.

“Would you campaign for Susan Collins if she asked you to?” the Fox News host asked.

“No, of course not. No, no. I mean, I am a Democrat. Senator Collins, we have different views,” he responded.

X users were not impressed, and it appears that this wasn’t enough to save his reputation among Democrats:
