Legal scholar Mark Levin unleashed one of his epic, fiery rants on the Wednesday night edition of Fox News Channel’s Hannity that covered a lot of territory after U.S. House Democrats rushed through a second impeachment of President Donald Trump.
The host of Life, Liberty & Levin on the same network, called out Democrats for their hypocrisy and ends-justify-the-means approach to politics with an unconstitutional and “phony” article of impeachment of an innocent man.
“We heard no evidence whatsoever that the president incited anything,” Levin insisted in his monologue that contains a lot to unpack and is embedded below in two parts. Severely criticizing the flimsy, 76-page House impeachment report, he asserted that “There’s not one sliver of evidence of inciting an insurrection of any kind in this document…historians are going to look at this and say, what kind of a moron wrote a document like this?”
The House voted 232 to 197 — including 10 Republicans — to impeach President Trump for incitement of insurrection. With that in mind, Levin focused on the Democrat leadership in Congress. “Who’s attacking the Constitution? Nancy Pelosi has just destroyed the separation of powers by the use of the impeachment power this way, she’s destroyed separation of powers,” Levin declared.
“What else? Chuck Schumer wants to destroy the courts. Chuck Schumer wants to destroy the Senate. Chuck Schumer wants to destroy the Electoral College. Who is attacking the Constitution?” Levin asked rhetorically.
Levin decried the two kinds of tyranny currently in play. “We saw tyranny last Wednesday…there are the nut jobs, who are armed up, and then there are the people in suits and ties and well-dressed. They look really good; they have perfume and cologne on, and they show up in Congress. We have a tyranny of the legislature. The American people saw two tyrannies this week. One today in the House of Representatives, and one last week outside the Capitol building.”
Levin alleged that officials knew there could be problems at the January 6 rally but failed to call out the National Guard. He also claimed that the “violent militia types” who showed up weren’t MAGA supporters. “You could smell something was wrong.”
Levin also blasted the Democrats and the corporate media for adopting the mantra that the summer-long riots were mostly peaceful protests and for engaging in censorship.
“I don’t want to hear any lecture from any leftists, whether they are in the media, whether they are in politics, whether they are in entertainment or corporate boardrooms, about violence. We conservatives, we Trump supporters, have been denouncing violence from day one.
“You sit there and you decided if you agree with the result…You either oppose violence or you don’t. You either support the Constitution [or] you don’t. The problem with the left is, they cherry-pick, which means they support nothing that’s principled and righteous.”

Mark Levin also agreed with other constitutional law experts that the U.S. Senate can’t hold an impeachment trial for a private citizen.

With all the chatter about so-called insurrection, Levin recalled how House Judiciary Committee chair Jerry Nadler convinced Bill Clinton to commute the sentences of two left-wing radicals who allegedly advocated for the violent overthrow of the U.S. government. “It’s a sick irony to watch Jerrold Nadler stand there, and everybody pat him on his rather substantial head about him going forward with the impeachment of an innocent man who didn’t incite anything,” Levin observed.
Levin also pointed out the hypocrisy of some Democrats, with their newfound love of law and order, who described the federal agents deployed to protect the Portland, Ore., U.S. courthouse as stormtroopers.
Levin has separately disputed a report that his radio show syndicator ordered him and other talk-show hosts to refrain from discussing election fraud.
