Michelle Obama declares ‘Age of ME’ in shameless GMA fluff interview

The Obama Presidential Center is opening its doors to the public on Friday after a dedication ceremony held on Thursday, and part of the media coverage included an embarrassingly soft interview by the ABC News flagship morning news program.

“Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts sat down with the former first couple in what the show billed as their first joint network TV interview since leaving office, and at one point asked them to describe their next chapter.

Barack Obama answered, “Fun.” When Roberts turned to Michelle, she quickly replied, “Me.”

“That’s what you call drop the mic,” a slobbering Roberts replied, much to the chagrin of the former president, who protested that his wife was being graded easier on her answers.

Earlier, Roberts asked the Obamas what activities take up most of their downtime. Barack, who is seen by many on the right as the man behind the curtain, driving much of the left’s agenda today, was hesitant to respond, seeking clarity while stating, “I don’t have that much downtime.”

Of course, he was the first former president to maintain his base in Washington, D.C. since progressive champion Woodrow Wilson.

Michelle was only too happy to answer for her husband, telling Roberts, “Golf.”

Another hard-hitting question from Roberts centered on what TV show they’ve recently binge-watched — on a positive note, there were no questions about favorite ice cream flavors.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
