There were at least two reported incidents of illegal aliens killing or injuring Americans on the road within the first week of July.

One illegal alien reportedly injured two Americans in North Carolina and killed a 6-year-old girl. Another reportedly injured two Americans in Michigan.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Pitt County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Authorities arrested Jaime Santiago Corona after he allegedly drove past a stop sign and crashed his truck into a minivan carrying a mother and two of her children in North Carolina on July 3, ABC News 12 reported.

Authorities reportedly declared the 6-year-old daughter dead at the scene. The mother and her 4-year-old child were “seriously” injured, according to the outlet.

“It is with profound and heartbreaking sadness that we share the news of the passing of one of our own dancers, Calli Toler … Losing someone so young and full of light is a tragedy that weighs heavily on all of us,” Down East Dance, a studio where the deceased daughter danced, stated in a Facebook post on July 6.

PCSO confirmed that a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer was placed on Corona, according to ABC.

“This monster [Corona] caused a car crash that killed a 6-year-old girl, and injured a mother and a 4-year-old,” DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis stated in a July 8 press release. “He had previously been deported THREE times, and has a criminal history for driving under the influence of liquor. This tragedy was 100% preventable. Our prayers are with Calli Toler and her family.”

The DHS deported Corona in 2019, 2023, and 2024, according to the department’s press release. It’s unknown when and where the Mexican national re-entered for a fourth time.

A similar incident involving an illegal alien reportedly occurred in Michigan earlier that week.

Authorities arrested Jose Manuel Cazarez-Pulido after he allegedly ran a red light and crashed his minivan into a motorcycle carrying a 64-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman on July 1, Fox 9 Detroit reported.

The motorcycle’s riders were “critically injured,” per the outlet. Authorities reportedly said that they found an open beer bottle in Cazarez-Pulido’s vehicle, but he didn’t appear intoxicated.

Waterford Police Department (WPD) detained Cazarez-Pulido as they waited for the U.S. Border Patrol agents to identify him, WPD confirmed to the DCNF.

Cazarez-Pulido allegedly re-entered the U.S. from Mexico illegally, according to Fox.

“Illegal aliens continue to break American laws and threaten American lives. The only sure way to prevent these crimes is to keep them out of our country,” U.S. Attorney Jerome Gorgon for the Eastern District of Michigan reportedly said.

Illegal aliens killed multiple Americans on the road — ranging from young children to senior citizens — over the years, the DHS stated in a May 2025 press release.
