While actress Kirstie Alley says that MAGA fans should keep their Trump support under wraps to avoid bullying from the left, Justified actor Nick Searcy recommends a more aggressive approach.
Alley took to Twitter on September 2 to recommend Trump voters keep mum to avoid being an economic casualty of the cancel culture imposed by unhinged leftists and related members of the PC police.
“I’ve been a Hollywood actress for 40 years and never seen the kind of hatred I’m seeing. I understand people hate political opponents but hatred towards PEOPLE who DON’T hate that opponent is historical. They’re busy CANCELING livelihoods. Stay silent Trumpers, is my advice.”

In response to the Cheers star, Searcy, one of the few performers in the entertainment space that publicly admits to being a conservative, recommends that Trump supporters instead should stand up to far-left bullies.
“Do not be silent. Laugh in their faces and be proud of who you are and what you believe. Bullies never stop. They have to BE stopped,” Searcy wrote on Twitter.

Searcy also issued a separate tweet expressing similar sentiments.
No. Speak out. Stand up to the bullies. Laugh in their faces. The only way is not to back down. Hoping they will eat you last is no way to deal with these bloodthirsty animals. Make films and don’t ask their permission. Tell them to kiss your ass.https://t.co/OC0hX3Xuft https://t.co/Pr21G79p0G

Apart from the effect on one’s career and livelihood, in today’s polarized climate, however, it can be physically risky to merely place a Trump-Pence sign outside a residence or ride around with a Trump bumper sticker, let alone wear a MAGA hat in public, however.
Alley and Searcy could both be correct, depending upon the specific circumstances that individuals find themselves in.
Kirstie Alley, who says she is still involved in Scientology, recently sat down for a remote interview with Adam Corolla in which she otherwise came across as a very down-to-earth person despite her Hollywood background. She remarked that she’s always been a Democrat but the anti-free speech, socialist cohort that has taken control of the party has changed things entirely.
Hollywood movers and shakers have repeatedly condemned the 1950s blacklist, and produced numerous movies about that period. They nonetheless have aggressively engaged in the blacklisting of their own when it comes to the way they treat non-liberals in the entertainment industry.
The tweets from the two acting veterans with opposing recommendations prompted a substantial response on Twitter. Here is just a sample:
I went from making millions directing and producing to being blacklisted for openly supporting the President BUT I wouldn’t change it. I hope my path makes it easier for others in the future and I’m able to create an alternative ecosystem that believes in diversity of thought.

I love you to death Kirstie, but I cannot and will not stay silent. Silence is what helped create this hostile environment. Silence is letting it continue. Speak up, speak out, and speak often! ❤️😘❤️

You have to stay silent. If I spoke up, I would lose my job, my livelihood, and my safety.

I was raised to respect another person’s choice. Voting is a personal, private, privilege. I truly do not care how anyone votes. I cannot understand all this hatred towards people. We need to love like crazy, life is short!❤️❤️

Got canceled at my own gramma’s funeral after being forced to admit I support our President. Was officially uninvited to the after party pool party. Whatever. 🙄 weirdos. Those who actually know me already seen there’s a flag on the pole and a flock of signs in my yard duh

I can’t be silent anymore, Kirstie. Your advice is wise, though. Thank you. I’ve literally placed my career on the altar because the future of this country for my children is infinitely more important to me.

Can you shed light on why such visceral hatred for Donald from Hollywood. I could see disdain on surface before he ran for President..but generally he was all over that town & at award shows, given awards. Then he ran for Potus and every one lost their minds. What gives?

Exactly. @kirstiealley is suggesting the result the Liberal mob seeks. We are seeing legitimate change in the political winds, a more level playing field for the first time in half a century. Credit Trump for making it acceptable to be a conservative with a voice.

Past time to speak. Make good quality family friendly films with a message. Show them what we want to see

I’m picturing some sort of meta-movie, starring all the disenfranchised conservative actors, in a movie about making a movie in Leftist Hollywood.. I see a lot of 4th wall breaking.. 😏

Unfortunately we can’t stay silent anymore. We were silent for decades and in the process the left took over all of institution – news media, education, government agencies.

We have to be silent November 3rd so we can hear the crying sobs and tears hitting the ground.
It will be scrumptious pic.twitter.com/GDl1p66S0e
