Is AOC electable? James Carville isn’t so sure

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is delighting in the Reflecting Pool’s troubles, comparing it to a “swamp.”

Approached by MidasTouch, Ocasio-Cortez was only too happy to revel in the issues surrounding a popular tourist location in Washington, D.C., under President Donald Trump.

Watch:

“I mean, when you defund science research, when you don’t really understand the first thing about science, yeah, they talked a bunch of smack. They said they had to repaint the pool, and now they’ve turned the place into a swamp. They turned it into an actual swamp,” she giggled, a likely jab at his campaign promise to “drain the swamp.”

“You know [Secretary of War] Pete Hegseth is asking for another $30billion for Iran…” the journalist said.

“I’m sure he wants a bunch of other money for any other bells and whistles and personal expenses,” she said, walking away.

“You’re opposed?”

“Yes,” she responded.

Trump has accused people of dumping “fertilizer” into the Reflecting Pool, resulting in the growth of algae. Reporters have noted that curious tourists have been seen pulling pieces of the peeling paint out of the pool to take as souvenirs, and even former Olympic athlete David Hearn has been arrested and charged with destruction of government property for allegedly doing the same.

“I reached in there, and I was able to grab the end of that flapping piece, the already peeling piece,” Hearn explained to the Washington Post. “It was still attached to the bottom. I didn’t remove anything.”

“I didn’t vandalize anything. I didn’t destroy, break, or peel anything. By the time I realized what was going on, I was being put in handcuffs.”

While he and his attorney, Norm Eisen, maintain that he did nothing wrong, the president has vowed to prosecute the Reflecting Pool “vandals.”

“This is a reflecting pool where people have for decades touched the water. How can it be a crime to touch the water of the reflecting pool? Chris, what you see is a desperate effort to cast blame anywhere other than those responsible,” the attorney claimed.

“Please remember that there is a 10-year prison sentence for the destruction, or even the attempted destruction, of such things – Which will be fully enforced!” the president declared.
