Cocky Chuck Todd defies DOJ crackdown on leakers, ‘I look forward to ignoring that subpoena’

NBC News’ Chuck Todd had his knickers in a twist on Friday after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a crackdown on leakers on Friday.

The “Meet The Press” host declared “If DoJ media source threat is real (I assume it’s not; just a show presser to please WH) then I look forward to ignoring that subpoena,” in a tweet.

He followed that with two more defiant tweets.

“I’ll say it again: the best way to prevent leaks for ANY org? Be a leader that inspires loyalty and cut out the staff infighting,” he said.

“The worst way to stop leaks: threats,” he tweeted.

His tweets came after Sessions announced that the Department of Justice is going to go hard after leakers, which might include going after the press to find out who the leakers are.

“We respect the important role that the press plays and will give them respect, but it is not unlimited. They cannot place lives at risk with impunity,” the Attorney General said. “We must balance their role with protecting our national security and the lives of those who serve in our intelligence community, the armed forces, and all law-abiding Americans.”

Sessions said that four leakers have been caught.
