The prosecution has vowed to have a retrial after a mistrial was declared in the sexual assault case of comedian Bill Cosby.
After nearly 52 hours of deliberation, more time than prosecution and defense spent giving testimony, the jury informed the judge it was “hopelessly deadlocked” before Judge Steven O’Neill declared the case a mistrial on Saturday.
“Do you agree that there is a hopeless deadlock that cannot be resolved by further deliberations?” the judge asked each juror, who responded “yes.”
Judge O’Neill thanked the jury for one of the most “selfless courageous acts” he has seen in their 52 hours of deliberation in which he has described as “the biggest sexual assault trial in history.”
Prosecutor Kevin Steele announced the Montgomery County would retry the case.
Cosby spokesperson Andrew Wyatt delivered a message to Gloria Allred, who represents several Cosby accusers, “For all those attorneys who conspired, like Gloria Allred – tell them to go back to law school.”

After the mistrial was announced, Cosby didn’t speak himself, but a statement written by his wife Camille was read outside of the courthouse.

“How do I describe the district attorney? Heinously and exploitatively ambitious,” Mrs. Cosby said. “How do I describe the judge? Overtly arrogant and collaborating with the district attorney.”
She went on the call the accuser’s attorneys as “totally unethical” and most of the media as “blatantly vicious entities that continually disseminated intentional omissions of truth for the primary purpose of greedily selling sensationalism at the expense of a human life.”

Mrs. Cosby expressed gratitude to the jurors who “tenaciously fought to review the evidence, which is the rightful way to make a sound decision. Ultimately that is a manifestation of justice based on facts, not lies.”
Social media joined in on excoriating Allred.
I can’t take anyone standing with Gloria Allred serious
