Spicer responds to reports Trump will be live-tweeting hearing; President has unexpected message for Comey

This is not the response many expected from President Donald Trump.

As the nation awaits former FBI Director James Comey’s impending testimony before Congress, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said the president might not even watch.

That statement flew in the face of reports that the president would be live tweeting during Comey’s testimony on Thursday.

“The president’s going to have a very, very, busy day, as he does all the time, and I think his focus is going to be on pursuing the agenda and the priorities that he was elected to do,” Spicer told reporters on Tuesday.

He said that President Trump has a session first thing in the morning on infrastructure with governors and mayors and then has to do a speech for a conservative political conference.

And when reporters caught up with President Trump he gave a surprising response when asked if he had a message for the former FBI director.

“I wish him good luck,” the president said.
