Elton John responds to announcement that he’ll play the Trump Inauguration

Hold your horses tiny dancer!

In a conversation with the BBC, Anthony Scaramucci made the case that Donald Trump would be a president for all people, including the LGBT community and, as proof, he said Elton John would even be performing at Trump’s inauguration.

“This will be the first American president in U.S. history that enters the White House with a pro-gay-rights stance,” Scaramucci said. “Elton John is going to be doing our concert on the mall for the inauguration.”

But he’s still standing … in his home, according to the New York Times.

“Incorrect. He will NOT be performing,” Fran Curtis, the publicist for the openly gay singer, told the Times via email.

John was a Hillary Clinton supporter during the campaign.

No word on why Scaramucci thought the singer would be playing at Trump’s inauguration.

Trump supporters weren’t too devastated about it.
