The word “racism” has officially jumped the shark.
Ellen DeGeneres came under attack after an innocent Photoshopped picture she posted on social media had the perpetually offended calling her a racist.
The picture, posted Monday, showed DeGeneres riding on the back of Olympian Usain Bolt, arguably the fastest man in the world.
This is how I’m running errands from now on. #Rio2016 pic.twitter.com/gYPtG9T1ao

While she is obviously commenting on Bolt’s near superhuman speed, many delicate flowers didn’t see it that way.
@daibyday @TheEllenShow an apology won’t do. This is utterly fucking ridiculous. How dare you!?!?

@TheEllenShow You thought it’d be funny to post a pic of yourself riding on the back of a Black man? Nope. Delete this racist garbage.

@fourfivehours @TheEllenShow @usainbolt they were complimented on their strength. So i guess they weren’t racist. pic.twitter.com/sXgo85VSvW

@SonicGamingChan @TheEllenShow I find the image of a white woman riding on a black man’s back triggering. Some don’t, I do & that’s life

Ellen, your whiteness is showing! #Rio2016 @TheEllenShow @usainbolt pic.twitter.com/88RF75YLDu

Others had common sense.
@TheEllenShow @usainbolt literally I’m black and don’t take offense to this she’s basically complimenting him on his speed and stamina

@TheEllenShow @usainbolt find something else to be fake offended by. This is fun and funny and Ellen’s not racist.

@TheEllenShow @usainbolt I am black and I don’t find this offensive at all. People who say it is offensive are being racist. Keep on Ellen!

On Tuesday the comedian posted again. This time explaining that she isn’t a racist.
I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country. It is the furthest thing from who I am.
