Hours after five police officers were murdered in Dallas on Thursday another police officer was shot in a suburb of St. Louis.
The shooting occurred during a traffic stop around 11:00 a.m. local time, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
The suspect, described as a tall, thin black man, was apprehended after a foot chase. A handgun was recovered, according to the Post-Dispatch.
The Ballwin officer, who was shot in the neck, was taken to a local hospital.
His condition is critical but stable according to St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar.
