The suspected leader of the Paris terrorist attacks has been captured.
Salah Abdeslam was wounded in a shootout with Belgian authorities on Friday but was detained alive, CNN reported.
Belgian politician Theo Francken tweeted “We got him” shortly after the announcement was made.
Belgian prosecutors reported earlier Friday that Abdeslam’s fingerprints and DNA were found in a Belgian apartment that counterterrorism authorities had raided on Wednesday where one man was killed and two escaped.
Security officials believe Abdeslam had been using the apartment as a hideout, according to CNN.
