A dicussion that involved the politicized issue of abortion rights led to an awkward but meant-to-be humorous exchange between co-hosts on Fox News’ “The Five,” a top-rated show where the running joke is that the freewheeling banter might land the panelists in the network’s Human Resources office.
Married women “can be just as murderous as single women,” Greg Gutfeld told pro-choice Jessica Tarlov, the occupant of the show’s liberal chair on Wednesday evening’s show, during the repartee.

The catalyst for the segment in the video clip embedded above was a report that suburban white women are trending back to the GOP for next week’s midterm elections after voting for Joe Biden in 2020.
That is because abortion following the Dobbs ruling apparently did not turn out to be the wedge issue that Democrats expected.
Gutfeld opined that the change in voting behavior could be because “maybe women are tired of being called racist Karens” merely for disagreeing with wokeism.
Panelist Katie Pavlich pointed out that the Supreme Court’s decision to send abortion regulation back to each state didn’t change things much in many jurisdictions. Dems miscalculated, she added, by assuming that many women are one-issue voters “when there are other issues like inflation, crime, and education on the table.”
The typically irreverent Gutfeld, who was emceeing that particular segment, then posed a question to Tarlov.
“Jessica, you’re a white woman, or so you identify as. Is this more about married women versus single women? Because you have kids, that changes your filter. Suddenly it’s about the price of baby food, not the price of an abortion. Abortion takes a backseat to applesauce. Is that a fair assessment?”
“Well, married women do also have abortions,” Tarlov responded. “So, that is something to note.”
“I think that’s a valiant point, Jessica,” Gutfeld faux agreed. “They can be just as murderous as single women,” which prompted a kind of playful scowl from Tarlov.
“I’m not going to fall down the trap of saying also that women vote how their husbands vote because we have seen obviously that that has diverged,” Tarlov asserted, which prompted Gutfeld to quip “only the smart women, Jessica,” as the other panelists laughed.
Referring to Greg “trying to get me in trouble,” the sometimes reasonable Tarlov continued with her analysis, which generally agreed with the consensus among her TV colleagues, even though she usually spews left-wing talking points in a passive-aggressive manner.

“But you’re going to have to rank your choices; you’re gonna to have to pick a lane. And white suburban women, I didn’t expect a 26-point swing, but they’re picking a lane, and it’s not voting on a social issue. It’s voting on a bread-and-butter, one of those ‘I can see it’ issues, like feeling that public safety is not up to snuff,” Tarlov admitted.
Dana Perino chimed in that “Democrats wouldn’t recognize a ‘kitchen table’ if it hit them in the face.”
Jesse Watters satirically claimed, in a deadpan manner, that “no one knows white suburban women better than I do. I know them better than they know themselves.”
In a much less flippant way, Biden went radical left with disastrous consequences instead of bringing the country back to normalcy and no drama, which is what suburban women wanted, he insisted.
“It’s not cool anymore to be a Biden voter in the suburbs…the only people in the suburbs that support Joe Biden at this point are weirdos and people with graduate degrees,” he commented, in part.
When Watters referred to himself as not seeing gender or race, Gutfeld punctuated the conversation by jesting that “but you will see HR after the show.”
