Mark Wahlberg puts massive California mansion on the market, wants ‘kids to have a better life’ in Nevada

Fleeing an unsatisfactory lifestyle for his family, constrictive corporate taxes and Hollywood’s liberalism, Mark Wahlberg is headed to Sin City, where he plans to launch “Hollywood 2.0.”

While Los Angeles mayoral candidates like Rick Caruso recognize the impending doom for Hollywood as studios and stars relocate, the woke left continues to plow ahead with their liberal policies, forcing major players to settle outside the state riddled with an insurmountable homeless problem and rising crime rates.

“I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there,” Wahlberg told The Talk. “So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.”

The “Father Stu” actor put his 30,500-square-foot Beverly Hills home on the market for $87.5 million, a 10-times increase over the $8.25 million he paid in 2009, bidding neighbors Denzel Washington, Sylvester Stallone, Justin Bieber, Eddie Murphy, Samuel L. Jackson and Lisa Vanderpump adieux. He then purchased two pieces of property in Summerlin, Nevada, a pricey suburb of Las Vegas.

“I moved to Nevada where after this gubernatorial election, hopefully it will go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get tax credit for the state — build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0,” the three-time Golden Globe winner said. “I want to be able to work from home.”

Wahlberg, who shares Ella, 19, Michael, 16, Brendan, 14, and Grace, 12, with wife Rhea Durham, 44, has starred in nearly 30 films since purchasing his home but only a handful have been filmed near Las Angeles.

Wahlberg and his family are reportedly living in a $14.5 million 7,000-square-foot home while awaiting completion of their new pad at the elite Summitt Club where he purchased a 2.5-acre plot for $15.6 million.

The “Entourage” producer plans to also build both a shoe and clothing factory in the tax-free haven.

“So, we came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future,” Wahlberg said.

The “Uncharted” actor isn’t the first A-list celebrity to leave Hollywood for Sin City. Celine Dion, Nicholas Cage, Brittany Spears, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Criss Angel, The Osmonds, Imagine Dragons and David Copperfield all call Las Vegas home.

“It comes as Vegas has exploded in recent years, with both the NFL and the NHL expanding or relocating teams to brand new arenas and stadiums in the city and MLS and the NBA (potentially backed by LeBron James) looking into setting up in Sin City as well,” The Daily Mail reported.

The multi-hyphenate businessman launched a Wahlburgers location in Vegas in 2017 and has referred to Las Vegas as his “home” on multiple occasions.

“Hey, that’s my hometown,” the “Daddy’s Home” star told BeondTV in August, as the host opened the segment with a Vegas chant. “We want to create a lot of jobs, and a lot of excitement. Hollywood 2.0.”

Kevin Hart joked in the segment that he’s right behind his “Me Time” co-star as soon as Wahlberg does all the heavy lifting.
