Megyn Kelly is calling out pop divas Jennifer Lopez and Shakira for what she considers a vulgar performance at Super Bowl LIV in February 2020.
During the same podcast in which Kelly lamented pervasive narcissism supposedly prompted by a reality TV show family, she praised, however, revealing photos posted on social media by former supermodel Paulina Porizkova.
While chatting with pundit Bridget Phetasy, Kelly — the ex-Fox News journalist who has found success as a right-leaning podcaster and SiriusXM host after a failed stint at NBC News — asserted that “I object to like J.Lo and Shakira showing their vag at the Super Bowl. Like I don’t want that.”
She added, “It’s gotta be situation appropriate But I don’t really object to just like women embracing their bodies or showing up their bodies like the pictures you see — Paulina Porizkova just had a really interesting post. She showed her bottom; she looks amazing.”
Porizkova, 57, is the widow of Cars frontman Ric Ocasek
In seemingly pivoting to a riff about the Kardashians, Megyn Kelly continued by explaining “what I object to is the unrivaled vanity, like the self-promotional, out-of-control focus on one’s self. Ego, clicks, likes. They’re hugely responsible for that in our society. They didn’t do it by themselves, but more than any other, they’ve had a terrible effect in that lane. And I do blame them. I do. ”
Apparently referencing a prior interview with the Kardashian clan, she noted that she asked them “are you a force for good or are you a force for evil? And they gave me their answer. But the more I watched them over the years, the more I think, net net, it’s evil. I don’t think this is healthy…their disgusting vanity, which has spread like wildfire in our society. The selfie culture is abhorrent to me. I think that’s what I’m responding to as opposed to some titillation from a beautiful woman here and there.”
Watch/listen:
“Kelly’s criticism of J.Lo and Shakira echoed that of several parents who said it was too risqué for a mass audience” watching the Super Bowl, the New York Post explained. “Bronx-born pop star Lopez was seen writhing her way around a pole while Shakira, a Colombia native, twerked and belly danced — all while both of them wore skimpy outfits.”
The social media responses to Kelly’s comments were quite revealing. Here is just a sample:
So let me get this straight Megan Kelly is against Latinas “showing their vag”(which btw they didn’t) but is okay with white, Swedish model Paulina Porizkova baring it all. Hypocrisy much?

Poor Megan…so inconsequential so she has to create a controversy from another time…sad

Megyn’s just catching up on something that happened two years ago?

Didn’t Megyn Kelly pose semi nude for a magazine?

Agree with Kelly. LOTS of women watch football too. Newsflash, most of us don’t want to see vag, or wagging T&A for that matter.
