‘It’s not Christian’: Mika says GOP’s ‘inhumane’ stance on illegal immigration may ‘backfire’ in midterms

In a surprise outburst of Christian nationalism, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski claimed that Republican policy on immigration will be unpopular for American voters.

“It’s not Christian. It’s not right. It’s inhumane,” Brzezinski declared.

This is in direct contrast to the fears of liberals across the nation that Republican lawmakers will lean on their Christian conservative values in creating legislation. She went on to say that Republican policies on abortion and immigration will “backfire” on conservatives in the upcoming midterms.

While admitting that Republicans are in a strong position this fall, host Joe Scarborough echoed Brzezinski’s concerns that Republicans are “overreaching” when it comes to these critical policy positions.

Scarborough went on to say that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is sending migrants to “an island in the Northeast.” For those unfamiliar with the asylum seekers’ travel plans, they’re not exactly sightseeing at Plymouth Rock.

Scarborough is seemingly following in the footsteps of co-host Willie Geist who earlier this month on “Morning Joe” said these migrants were “being dropped on an island off the coast of Massachusetts.” While Geist’s comments are slightly more accurate than Scarborough’s, both MSNBC anchors somehow failed to mention that the island in question is Martha’s Vineyard, a community populated by America’s wealthiest elites.

The co-hosts even went as far as to describe DeSantis’s relocation to Martha’s Vineyard as “grotesque”.

Furthermore, Scarborough claimed that the Florida governor misled the migrants about where they were going, saying that DeSantis “lies to them.” Contrarily, DeSantis has stated that the fifty individuals in question were fully informed of where they were heading – a packet was given to them with a map of Martha’s Vineyard that showed as much – and that the immigrants signed a waiver agreeing to the relocation.

This is only the latest of a string of media elites and Democrats attempting to characterize the bussing and flying of immigrants into the interior of the country as inhumane – but only when it’s done by Republican governors apparently.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies, a pro-immigrant organization, the Biden administration as recently as May of this year has released a total of 1,049,532 illegal immigrants into the interior of the United States. A figure that utterly dwarfs the number of illegal immigrants moved to Chicago, Washington D.C., and New York City – much to the chagrin of their Democrat mayors. A number significantly larger than the population of Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.

But Scarborough didn’t stop there.

He continued to say that Republicans are in a strong position but are ‘overreaching’ on key issues such as immigration and abortion. Brazenly, he cited the case of a 10-year-old rape victim fleeing the state of Ohio as a direct result of conservative abortion laws.

Again, Scarborough failed to mention one of the key elements of that case is that the accused rapist of the minor is an illegal immigrant. He later went on to implore his fellow Democrats to “wake up,” saying “Most Americans believe that if you come into America, you need to come in legally.”

If the majority of Americans believe that the federal immigration policy is failing them then it hardly seems like Republican lawmakers are “overreaching” in the slightest.
