Laura Ingraham calls out bad actors who are ‘complicit’ in enabling China’s ‘slave state’

As the people of China are yet again forced to endure oppressive lockdowns and Covid-19-related restrictions, Fox News’ Laura Ingraham is calling out the regime’s enablers.

Massive protests have erupted across China as the Chinese government implements its “zero Covid” policy once again. Policy measures include sealing apartments and mass forced quarantining. The latest round of lockdowns saw a fire break out in a residential apartment building in Ürümqi that lead to the deaths of over ten residents. Citizens in the Xinjiang capital are forced to comply with restrictive Covid-19 measures despite being registered as “low risk”. Many are blaming the authorities for the deaths as residents are only allowed to leave their apartments with governmental permission.

The incident in Ürümqi has sparked massive protests against the communist regime, levels of which haven’t been seen for over three decades and have called for the end of the party’s rule and for Xi Jinping to step down. Acts of civil disobedience have seen citizens clash with hazmat-suited police all over the country. Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Wuhan, and Guangzhou were all sites of Chinese unrest.

During a segment with fellow Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Ingraham cast blame not only on the Chinese Communist Party but on American political and social leaders as well.

“Steve Kerr, Lebron James, Silver, Larry Fink, heads of Goldman Sachs, the Nike CEO, the U.S. media, a lot of libertarians sadly in the Republican Party, they’re all complicit here,” she began.

“Let’s be very clear what’s going on. China is a slave state. There is no gray area. They are an evil dictatorship. They seek world domination. Okay? They hate the blue states, the red states, and everything in between in the United States,” she continued. The only people that are making billions of dollars in China care about is their own power, their own access, and their own bottom line. They’ll sell out their mother for a buck. They’ll sell out their mother for power. Apparently, they’ll sell out their national interests.”

The NBA has infamously refused to condemn the Chinese government’s treatment of their own people, and instead focused on selling their product to the Chinese fanbase. Chamath Palihapitiya, minority owner of the Golden State Warriors, said earlier this year that the Uyghur genocide in China was “below [his] line” for caring. “Nobody cares about what’s happening to the Uyghurs, OK? You bring it up because you really care, and I think it’s nice that you care, the rest of us don’t care. … I’m just telling you … a very hard, ugly truth. Of all the things I care about, yes, it is below my line.”

While the Golden State Warriors offered a statement saying that Palihapitiya didn’t speak for the team, they didn’t condemn the Chinese government’s actions either.

Apple, Nike, and Coca-Cola all lobbied against a bill that prohibited the import of goods that employed Uyghur forced labor with the intention of weakening the restrictions.

“So there are a lot of people who are collaborators and complicit here, Tucker, and yet they want to hold up Russia, Russia, as the biggest threat in the world, I’m not saying it’s not a threat, it is a threat, but comparing China to Russia whose economy is about the size of France’s is ridiculous. China, as we know, is funding the war in Ukraine right now. So, I mean, so I’m glad you’re doing this tonight, because this is the single biggest threat to freedom and our own sovereignty and independence in the world right now, it is in China, our southern border,” said Ingraham.

Carlson’s Monday night episode focused on the regime’s oppression and the support – or lack of condemnation – it’s garnered from influential U.S. policymakers. Earlier in the episode, Carlson played a clip of John Kirby, National Security Council Coordinator, who said the Biden administration had no comment on the Chinese people’s protests of their government, that they would let them “speak for themselves.”

“To your point about Kirby, what he wouldn’t say today, remember what Joe Biden said on June 2nd, 2020 after the Floyd protests exploded. He said they were legitimate grievances and they should be a wake-up call for America. That’s what he said when our nations in many cases were erupting in violence and flames. Yet they’re mute on a slave state in China? And they’re the civil rights crusaders? Excuse me. They’re all frauds,” Ingraham remarked.

In turn, Carlson mocked Kirby saying that he was “supposed to be an adult,” and demanded his resignation. “He should resign his job tonight. He should be ashamed of himself that he’s a mouthpiece for this grotesque policy. I hope he has enough dignity and self-respect to resign.”

Ingraham concluded by calling for Republicans to be more brazen in calling out the Chinese government’s oppression of their own people. “We need Republicans, Tucker, who are finally speaking the truth about this issue, are not beholden to the investment banks and the multilateral corporations that are continuing to fund this military regime and dictatorship in China. We see what they’re doing and it is horrific.”
