Stacey Abrams ‘pulls a Hillary’ with future governor meme, and folks smell a bad omen

With a Hillary Clinton meme providing a history lesson, pundits on the internet have concluded that it’s a bad omen for Clinton’s fellow Democrat Stacey Abrams to refer to herself as Georgia’s “future governor.”

On October 26, 2016, Clinton, who obviously lost to Donald Trump about two weeks later in the national election for POTUS, shared a childhood image of herself on Twitter with the caption “Happy birthday to this future president.”

Earlier this week, the far-left Abrams took to social media to post a childhood photo containing a prediction of similar election success, but at the statewide level. “Little Miss future governor of the great state of Georgia,” the post was labeled, which could turn out to be a big miss when the votes are tabulated in about three months.

U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley’s press secretary Abigail Marone suggested this kind of narcissistic imagery “always ends badly” for Democrats. The Red State website metaphorically surmised that “it might be the true kiss of death” for the Abrams gubernatorial campaign.

The CRT-supporting, voting rights activist and one-time Star Trek actress, a show that gave her a big promotion, corporate media favorite Abrams is in a rematch with incumbent GOP Gov. Brian Kemp that will be decided on November 8.

Abrams was very reluctant to concede when she lost to Kemp in 2018, which by 2022 standards is tantamount to a lack of patriotism — or worse — according to Democrats. Abrams opposed the law that Kemp signed in March 2021 that tightened up some of the state’s voting procedures.

Hillary Clinton is a Stacey Abrams fan. Clinton never got over her defeat by Trump.

According to a Real Clear Politics aggregate of five polls, Kemp currently holds about a four percent lead over Abrams.

In May, Abrams described the jurisdiction that she wants to lead as “the worst state in the country to live.”

In addition, according to Fox News, Abrams has an extensive list of self-congratulatory meme monikers, all with the keyword little: “The posts by Abrams also included memes calling herself ‘Little Miss Trekkie,’ ‘Little Miss Yale trained tax attorney,’ ‘Little Miss high school valedictorian,’ ‘Little Miss House Democratic leader,’ ‘Little miss small business owner” and ‘Little Miss One Georgia for all.'”

“Kemp’s campaign joined in on the Twitter pile-on by using the ‘Little Miss’ meme template to highlight how her campaign has been mostly funded by donors outside Georgia. A recent Axios report said that Abrams’ campaign only received 14% of its campaign funds from Georgia-based donors, compared to 86% outside the state in places like California, New York and D.C.,” FNC added.

According to  PJ Media, the Abrams Clinton-callback is another example of how the left apparently finds itself meme-challenged;

To explain how Stacey Abrams has proven yet again that the left can’t meme, here’s some context. The latest meme trend involves the Little Miss and Mr. Men series of children’s books that British author and illustrator Roger Hargreaves began in 1971…The meme really is terrible, and it doesn’t work on two levels. First, she (or her campaign) used an old elementary school photo of Abrams rather than a play on the Little Miss characters, which removes all the context of the meme, rendering it completely useless. Second, barring some really unforeseen circumstances, Stacey Abrams has no future as Georgia’s governor.

As alluded to above, responses to the Stacey Abrams meme have rolled in on Twitter, with a noticeable theme:
