Whether it be his continued efforts to “deter” Russian President Vladimir Putin after the invasion of Ukraine had already begun or responding to the baby formula shortage after shelves had gone bare, President Joe Biden’s reactionary leadership has been putting America last for nearly a year and a half now, and his latest move to ramp up domestic energy production is sure to do the same.
On Monday, the White House announced that the president will be invoking the Defense Production Act (DPA) along with other executive actions to try to combat the overwhelming reality that the Democratic policy initiatives are crippling the American economy. With the average price for a gallon of gas more than double since Biden was inaugurated and experts warning of rolling blackouts throughout the summer because the energy grid is not suited to meet the expected demand, the president has decided to double down.
The news broke late Sunday that he would be pushing solar projects stalled by a Commerce Department tariff probe and promoting other clean energy projects.
SCOOP: @POTUS will use executive action Monday to kickstart solar projects in the U.S. that are stalled by a Commerce Dept tariff probe, and he will invoke the Defense Production Act to spur domestic production of solar panels and other clean energy projects, sources tell me

In the release from the White House, the fact sheet claims the president’s actions will boost “Made-in-America clean energy with federal procurement.” However, the reality appears more like a major boon for the Chinese Communist Party.
When Biden promoted the sanctions against Russian oil exports, the United States began to see accelerated increases in the already rising cost of fuel because of disrupted supply chains dubbed “Putin’s price hike.” Meanwhile, China continued to purchase oil from the hostile nation, providing them greater leverage on the world stage.
The White House consulted with ZERO U.S. solar manufacturers on this decision.
This move allows Chinese solar manufacturers to export an unlimited supply of panels in two years. These are the same solar panels made with forced labor and subsidized by the Chinese government. https://t.co/DiEL3LV1cf

Boasting eight of the ten largest solar manufacturing companies in the world, “This move allows Chinese solar manufacturers to export an unlimited supply of panels in two years. These are the same solar panels made with forced labor and subsidized by the Chinese government.”
Fox News contributor Steve Milloy called it, “A BS spin on Biden sucking up to Communist China,” and said, “Biden is suspending the tariffs on slave labor-made Chinese solar panels for two years. How that helps domestic production is a mystery to all.”
The move harkened back to the failed green energy initiatives under President Barack Obama that saw hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars funneled into companies like Solyndra only to later file for bankruptcy.
I’d like to write a song about this. What rhymes with Solyndra?

We need another bigger Solyndra, stat!

Good grief – here we go again with flushing billions down the drain on solar cells – another cheap commodity that we cannot manufacture cost effectively.

It also raised the looming specter of corruption within the administration as it pertains to the president’s son Hunter Biden’s questionable business deals and investments in foreign energy companies.
Meet the new pivot. Same as the old pivot.
Wonder which Biden aides have stocks in solar projects right now. https://t.co/krblRL075d

Others pointed out that this move, which would do little but line the pockets of companies at the forefront of fledgling technologies incapable of meeting the demands of the American consumer, was not at all what the DPA was designed to do and that Biden’s solution was tantamount to a socialist seizing the means of production as he picks winners and losers.
I don’t think that’s what the defense production act is supposed to be for.

“Stealing from Peter to pay Paul” never works in the end. We are seeing that now with all the drug shortages that are coming due to a compound effect of DPA/the lockdowns/war in Ukraine. You can keep trying to kick the can, but eventually Peter comes round looking for his dues.

And ultimately, the question has to be asked, “How much more proof do we need that the skyrocketing gas prices are by design?”
