Child psychologist: Sexual behavior develops ‘first,’ babies in utero ‘play with their genitals because its exciting’

A licensed child psychologist from NYU Langone Health, an academic medical center in New York City, is facing scrutiny over a TikTok video showing her arguing that children aren’t too young to learn about sex-related matters because even unborn babies masturbate.

Shared to Twitter by Libs of TikTok, the TikTok video of Dr. Samantha Busa has attracted massive attention because, critics say, it’s extremely inappropriate, it’s pseudoscientific, and it debunks the left-wing talking point that an unborn baby is just a lifeless fetus.

The video begins with Busa posing a question to her audience.

“A question I’m often asked, or people around the dinner table will say to me, kids are too young for a gender identity and sexual orientation, aren’t they? So I want to ask all of you … what do you think comes first from a developmental standpoint — gender identity, sexual behavior, or sexual orientation?” she says.

She then quickly conducts an online poll, after which she discusses the results.

“So the vast majority of people say gender identity. I asked this question on purpose because it’s a bit of a stumper. For those of you who have answered sexual behavior … you are correct,” Busa, who is a licensed child psychologist, says.

“We actually know that sexual behavior is the first thing to develop for youth. We know that. And this is in some ways where people get tripped up. We’re considering self-pleasure, masturbation as part of self behavior here. We know that in-utero, we see children playing with their genitals because it feels good, it’s exciting.”

The most common reaction to the video has been pure disgust, with critics accusing Busa of being a “groomer.”

Look:

The second-most common reaction to the video has been speculation over the idea that unborn babies touch their genitals for the purpose of pleasure.

Critics say that it seems much more likely that unborn babies touch their genitals because they’re exploring themselves and their environment.

And if anything, the fact that Busa has chosen to ascribe sexual motives to the innocent behavior of babies should be concerning, critics say.

Look:

Last but not least, critics noted that this claim that babies can experience pleasure debunks the left-wing narrative that babies are just clumps of cells.

Recall what left-wing Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor said late last year when arguing against the claim that a fetus has the ability to feel pain.

“Virtually every state defines a brain death as death. Yet the literature is filled with episodes of people who are completely and utterly brain dead responding to stimuli. There’s about 40 percent of dead people who, if you touch their feet, the foot will recoil. There are spontaneous acts by dead brain people. So I don’t think that a response by a fetus necessarily proves that there’s a sensation of pain or that there’s consciousness,” she said.

Listen:

Yet according to Busa, who’s clearly also a leftist herself, so-called “fetuses” can feel sexual pleasure? Critics say it’s just another example of the left changing the “facts” to fit their desired agenda. In this case, that agenda presumably is allowing teachers to indoctrinate young children in sexual-related matters …
