Gavin Newsom steps on a rake when he tries using commonsense: ‘Keep up with your wack job party, dude’

Sometimes even Democratic governors have a hard time keeping up with the latest leftist absurdities—such as the fact that men can get pregnant.

This most recent faux pas comes courtesy of Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, who made some remarks at a very staged and ready-for-Hollywood event on Wednesday. It was a time for Newsom to gather with abortion advocates and comment on the leaked draft memo indicating the Supreme Court is on the verge of overturning Roe v. Wade after nearly fifty years, and which has touched off a firestorm of debate across the country.

“Hell, they don’t even believe in climate science,” Newsom said during the event, referring to supporters of abortion restrictions.

“Talk to me about being pro-life,” he continued. “Spare me. Your body, your choice. It’s a hell of a moment to live in. But like you say, we will not be defeated. We will stand tall, we will stand firm and we will affirm the constitutional—currently constitutionally protected rights of women and girls for their reproductive rights and freedoms in California.

“And we will assert ourselves, as I said, as Californians, by punching above our weight working with other like-minded leaders and governors and legislatures all across this country, and we’re not going to roll over. We will not back down and will continue to fill in the gaps and address the disparities that continue to persist, even in a state like ours, even in California,” he said.

After making his spirited remarks in defense of Roe, Newsom tweeted a snippet of his speech, along with a message for the faithful.

“If men could get pregnant,” he wrote, “this wouldn’t even be a conversation. This decision isn’t about strengthening families—it’s about extremism. It’s about control. We will fight for the right to choose.”

Of course, Newsom’s egregious error is immediately apparent. Men, as anyone who is current with the most recent liberal pieties understands, most certainly can get pregnant. Gender activists hold that men are self-evidently capable of both menstruating and giving birth to children. Newsom’s refusal to acknowledge that proven fact, which is as obvious as climate science, instantly identified him as a right-wing extremist or at least fascist-adjacent.

Conservative Twitter didn’t hesitate to call him out for his bigoted and exclusionary remarks.

“Men get pregnant now. Keep up with your wack job party dude,” tweeted one user, who neatly summarized the problem.

Others excoriated Newsom for his obvious bigotry and trans-exclusionary prejudice.

Newsom needs to educate himself, obviously.

He could certainly take a tip from a fellow Democrat, Wisconsin State Representative Francesca Hong, who was a little more diplomatic in her defense of abortion. She simply referred to women as “birthing bodies,” which makes much more sense.

  2. If couples engage in sex without protection to avoid unwanted pregnancies, what could go wrong??? MURDERING the unwanted baby without spending one second in prison for MURDER??? Why not put a cork in IT, ( your vagina) ??? It will keep you from being GUILTY of MURDER!!!

  3. Francesca has me confused, first she uses the woke term “birthing bodies” then follows that with a Pro Life statement about deciding if
    or when to become a parent. That’s the point, making a conscious decision not just a random f***. I would imagine most of these abortions are the result of the latter with no decision making involved beyond deciding to get laid.

    1. Well, I once read that, according to the Guttmacher Institute, half of all abortions come from people whose contraceptives failed them. What I don’t remember is how many of those people in their report were married and faithful; I need to track that down, it could tell us a lot about this issue’s possible implications.

  4. Francesca, you seem to be forgetting one little thing, it’s called a sperm. Without it, you and your autonomy will not find yourself pregnant. Sorry but that is scientific fact. You on the Left all believe in science, at least you claim to! So you just gave away part of your autonomy to the sperm donor. The very act of being pregnant took you from autonomy to being part of a group, of at least, three. You, sperm donor and future offspring. So, sorry, you gave up your autonomy when you let the sperm in. In almost EVERY case the birthing person did it by CHOICE!

    Now the end of the Democratic Party is at hand. Joey Biden admitting that abortion kills a child! Newsom admitted that men can’t get pregnant. Heck, even AOC in an interview used the word woman. You see when you constantly lie, you find yourself forgetting which lie is the correct one at any given time!

    Here is a governor who locked down a state, mandated masks, fired state workers, doctors, nurses, police and fireman for not taking a shot they didn’t want to take.

  8. Please explain to me where in the Constitution it says people have the right to murder babies? Alito is saying it isn’t there and, since any power not specifically contained within, it given back to the states. End of story. Just so we’re clear, pedophila isn’t in there either but I expect it to come up too.

  9. I’m from California and it’s embarrassing. We have an Illegitimate Governor that’s banned executions of the worst criminals but has no problem killing unborn babies. At least be consistent.

  14. As I remember, it was Gloria Steinem who gave us the idiotic gem about how abortion would be a sacrament if people like me could get pregnant. Well, we’ve supposedly reached that time when men can get pregnant, and I think that’s as close as we’re gonna get to what she had in mind. So, why isn’t is a sacrament? Could it be that, even in an age where we don’t know what men and women are, we still understand that there are better ways of exercising responsible, autonomous behavior?
    I shudder to think there are so many who want to throw out even that knowledge.
