David Hogg’s inner-capitalist gets the better of him and it’s spectacular

Left-wing anti-gun activist David Hogg gave a sign that there may yet be hope for an impressionable young man who has embraced the politics of the Democratic Party and the capitalism-hating progressives who comprise its base.

The 22-year-old Harvard University student who was catapulted into national liberal stardom when in 2018, CNN featured a town hall only days after a horrific mass shooting at the Florida high school that he attended, took to Twitter to express frustration over the bureaucratic hurdles of starting his own business.

Hogg, who is trying to set up a Limited Liability Company (LLC) bemoaned the process as being costly and not easy, blaming the government in a series of tweets in which he almost sounds like a capitalist and not one of the big-government worshipping socialists and Bernie Sanders acolytes that are dominant on the left, his political home.

“I’m working on setting up a LLC right now and this whole process is stupidly complicated and expensive. The government should be making it easy for people to start companies- not hard. Also there shouldn’t be this many regulations and paper work to work across state lines,” Hogg wrote.

“Luckily I made enough money from previous clients I worked for a 1099 to fund this but I can already see why there are so many people who can go beyond the LLC phase,” he added in another tweet.

“There’s a number of reasons businesswise and legally why I know at this phase it’s best to set up an LLC. Trust me, I wouldn’t be doing this if their were not good reasons for doing so and it pays off in the long run,” Hogg wrote in a third tweet.

Hogg was also critical of the IRS, an agency that President Joe Biden has called for giving even more power than it already has, “granted- I’m also brining (sic) on more costs to have lawyers and CPAs at every point of the process so in the event some unfriendly admin has the IRS audit me I have every single i dotted and t crossed.”

“I understand there are good reasons states need to have this info but damn can we please simply the process and reduce the fees,” he wrote.

“There are many many examples of countries where the government works to support business and make regulation and taxes as simple as possible because they understand not doing so costs you economically and also is very annoying for business and individual citizens,” Hogg added in yet another tweet, expressing the frustrations of many other aspiring capitalists.

The youngster’s previous business venture, a pillow company that he had high hopes would grab market share from MyPillow’s Mike Lindell fell flat despite his early optimism.

But alas, reality intervened to stop the dream short of fruition, leading Hogg to junk the venture before the first pillow was shipped.

Twitter users took to the platform to opine on Hogg’s unleashing of his inner capitalist.

While he may be seeing the light as far as big government’s hostility toward small businesses, Hogg remains a fierce opponent of the Second Amendment.

  1. What is the reason for an LLC instead of an S corp at the size and complexity he is starting with? Unless he is dealing with products that have a high insurance exposure, there is no reason for an LLC. Apparently they don’t teach anything practical at Harvard. Sure would like to know where his pillows went. Mike Lindell is still laughing at Hogg.

  2. C’mon Davy, I started an LLC in under 30 minutes and for a cost of $100.00. Good grief.

  3. This hogg person is Attending harvard??? Guess they don’t teach grammar, English, writing, Or Spelling. Atrocious!!!!

  4. I can see by the typo’s in Hogg’s blurbs that he does not review or edit his communications. That is pretty sloppy work and makes all his thinking suspect.

  5. He had no business being at that school. Especially since he’d already graduated from Redondo Shores high school in Redondo beach California. He worked as a crisis actor.
His father is an ex-cia billionaire who sells training weapons (guns), and his mother is tied to CNN. Anything that kid says is a lie.

  6. Is Twitter really that accepting of bad grammar and misspellings? Another reason I’m not on it. Why should I have to struggle to understand what a person who needs to whine publicly is saying? Harvard student? 😂

    1. Does Harvard not have entrance standards? In a Western Agriculture university I had to take a remedial English class before I was “accepted” for degree courses. And English is my first and only language.
