Rudy Giuliani’s controversial Masked Singer episode airs. Here’s how it all went down.

On Wednesday night’s episode of “The Masked Singer,” former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani was finally outed as one of the contestants.

The episode was actually taped in February—and rumors have been swirling ever since about his appearance, although it was unknown if or when the footage would actually air. Giuliani was disguised in a “Jack in the Box” costume, and the revelation of his identity was greeted by shock and dismay by the show’s judges, especially Ken Jeong, who was apparently so triggered that he stormed off the stage.

Although it must be added that some of the judges had no idea who he was.

“Is that Robert Duvall?” judge Nicole Scherzinger asked.

“No, that’s not Robert Duvall,” Jeong replied.

Rumors about Giuliani’s appearance have been circulating for some time, and it was reported that judge Robin Thicke was the one who stormed off the stage. That wasn’t the case, although Thicke did seem to be missing from the stage at one point, perhaps consoling Jeong off camera.

Not one of the judges successfully guessed Giuliani’s identity. Ken Jeong guessed Elon Musk, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg thought he might be Joe Pesci, Robin Thicke suggested Robert Duvall, and Nicole Scherzinger guessed Al Roker. The actual reveal came as quite a shock to the judges.

“It surprises us all that you’re here on ‘The Masked Singer,'” the show’s host, Nick Cannon, explained to Giuliani.

“This is definitely something I never would have guessed,” Thicke said.

“Me too, me too,” the 77-year-old Giuliani said. He then told the judges that setting an example for his granddaughter factored into his decision to appear on the show since he wanted her to know that “you should try everything, even things that are completely unlike you and unlikely. And I couldn’t think of anything more unlike me and unlikely than this.”

“I don’t get to have a lot of fun,” he added, explaining that he was a long-time fan of the show and thought it would be a fun appearance.

After his big reveal, Giuliani performed a rather off-key rendition of “Bad to the Bone” by George Thorogood and the Destroyers, which apparently prompted an exasperated Ken Jeong to exclaim “I’m done,” and then storm off the stage.

Thicke wasn’t seen leaving the stage, though it seems likely his exit had been edited out since a later shot showed judges  McCarthy-Wahlberg and Scherzinger dancing alone.

Jeong apparently wasn’t alone in his reaction, with the usual suspects on Twitter chiming in to signal their “outrage.”

Giuliani’s reveal, and Jeong’s staged-seeming reaction to it, have been teased in the tabloids for some time, likely in a bid to drive up ratings. In early February, for instance, People spoke to a source on the show who claimed that “Ken felt disrespected and was livid to see Rudy was under the mask which is why he walked off. There’s no way he could hide his feelings.

“Ken has been incredibly vocal about how the previous administration handled many things but especially COVID-19 and has found a lot of what they’ve said not only wrong but dangerous,” the source told People. “To get someone who helped to spread misinformation and call into question the accuracy of our election and democracy to appear on his show was going to set him off.”

It’s unclear whether Jeong was equally triggered by Democratic politicians who have been calling into question the accuracy of elections and democracy for decades, beginning at least with the election of George W. Bush, and who have preemptively questioned the legitimacy of the upcoming midterm elections should they not turn out in their favor.

  1. Aww, the chubby little gay oriental with no talent was upset. Urinate on him. WAIT, NO! He’d like that. Administer a lesson to him in a more appropriate form. Giuliani has a fantastic list of achievements which saved NYC, until the dems got back in and destroyed it. All that wee Kenny has done is be in a couple of stupid juvenile movies which showed the sad teeny weeny equipment he has.

  2. Looks as if the liberal judge showed his true colors and bias.. What a guy to have as a judge! Rudy is one who cleaned up NY and also took the mafia on and won. This so-called judge is not any kind of material for a judge of any kind. No conservatives need to even consider participating on this show.

  3. I don’t recall Rudy talking about Covid at all. They would be more honest if they said the hosts are all hard core libs who have not watch any news other than CNN in decades so they only know what Joyless Reid and Lemonhead has told them. The tweet about him belonging in jail is hilarious though, guess that guy missed the part where they raided Rudy’s home and found nothing.

I love his reason for doing the show though as a grandma I can say I wish I had the guts to do something like this to show my grands they should try everything.

  4. So who are these people that think Rudy needs to “rehab” his image by using this show? Rudy has a better image as one of the most successful leaders in history and you people hate him because he sided with Trump. What a bunch of pathetic hate filled ahole.

  5. Dear Lincoln Project,

Let me help you out here. You don’t “allow” Rudy Guiliani to do s***. He’ll do WTF he wants to do and you’ll STFU and deal with it.

    See how that works?

  6. These leftists are hysterical! Why do you even put shows on if you can’t set your politics aside? It’s amazing the leftists always throw a temper tantrum. Grow up, crybabies. If you can’t grow up get your blanky & paci, and go to your safe space. You guys are a joke of a human being. You gotta laugh at how idiotic these people act! I have to say I quit watching all these leftist channels years ago by cutting the cable.

  7. Eric Adams would cause one to do what, if this black irresponsible not a good cop unmasked his ugly face? NYC has never been more dangerous than DeBlasio and Eric Adams. Pukesville.

  8. Ahhh, the “Tolerant Left” shows its true colors, AGAIN. This is why cable tv, Bye Bye!

    1. They find the stupidest ugliest peoples for Netflix and cable tv. Why are rating plummeting? I won’t watch or purchase ads that are made for block people. They don’t pertain to us whites. Ever never has television been more segregationslist as today. Every ad is for black people and irrelevant to the rest of the world.

      1. This show is on FOX, a used to be free to watch network not cable or streaming show. Fox actually has some decent shows without a ton of woke story lines I am guessing this show is probably not one of them. I can’t tell you how many big network shows I no longer watch thanks to the woke virus, thanks for that Elon I love it work virus.
