A Florida woman and her nuptials caterer face charges after a lengthy police investigation reportedly determined that wedding guests were served food allegedly laced with marijuana.
Unfortunately, various invitees didn’t merely receive an unexpected buzz from the baked-in buffet; several allegedly suffered symptoms such as stomach pains, vomiting, and experienced heart palpitations, according to Fox 35.
First responders, who had gone to the scene after a 911 call from a man who told the dispatcher that he felt weird and thought he might have drugs inside him, transported some of the attendees to a local hospital for treatment.
Bride Danya Glenny, 42, and caterer Jocelyn Bryant, 31, are now reportedly charged with the felonies of food tampering and delivery of marijuana, as well as a culpable negligence misdemeanor.
Recreational pot use in Florida is still illegal.

In the February 19 incident that occurred at the Springs Clubhouse in Longwood, Fla., in the Orlando area, responding Seminole County deputies reportedly collected items from the reception that included lasagna, chocolate-covered strawberries, and pudding shots, as well as glassware.
“Deputies spoke with Glenny and another person and asked if she had consented to or requested that the food contain marijuana. The report states that she stared at the deputy with a blank expression before saying no. Deputies then tried to locate the catering manager, Bryant, but the staff had already left,” Fox 35 Orlando reported.
According to The Washington Post, none of the guests who spoke with cops knew they were consuming food containing marijuana.
“Their feelings of being stoned were later confirmed when they tested positive for marijuana. Investigators estimated about 50 people attended the wedding reception,” the news outlet added.
In a police affidavit, one of the guests claimed after she said that she was feeling unwell, the kitchen staff admitted that the meal contained cannabis.
Another guest provided this account to cops, the Post detailed:
[The guest] told deputies she remembered seeing Bryant, the caterer, putting food out. She recalled seeing Bryant pull out a “green substance” from a bowl and place it into small dishes that were then filled with olive oil, the affidavit states. With the mixture of pepper, it didn’t taste like marijuana, she said, and the green substance in the dishes may well have been “Italian herbs,” she told deputies.
But after she ate the bread and olive oil dip, she felt stoned.
[She] then asked Bryant whether there was marijuana in the food. Bryant “giggled and shook her head yes,” the affidavit states.
The same guest claimed that the bride admitted that the olive oil was spiked upon being confronted on the dance floor.
According to NBC Orlando affiliate WESH, the police report (as alluded to above) indicates, however, that “deputies who responded asked the bride and another unidentified person if they put cannabis in the food and the bride responded, ‘No.'”
The investigation is ongoing.
