The “journalists” at NPR, home to extensive reporting on the deep complexity of “racist emojis,” have concluded that “extremist groups are at the core” of the trucker protests in Canada.
The “journalists” reached this conclusion not by speaking with actual protesters like non-establishment Rupa Subramanya recently did.
Instead the “journalists” reached it by speaking to one “national security expert,” Stephanie Carvin.
“[E]xtremist groups are at the core of the movement, Stephanie Carvin, a national security expert, tells Morning Edition,” NPR reported Thursday.
“One national security expert.” One.

It’s insane that this article is about what “one national security expert” thinks. Maybe, like, actually talk to the truckers and report what they say.

You only found one? Let me get this straight: You put more people on the “racist emoji” story than this? And your expert is full of crap.

“One national security expert”? Thank you @NPR for reminding us that you have no idea what actual reporting is. Might as well add that there has been alien sightings there as well.

After weeks of hunting, we finally found ONE expert willing to parrot our narrative!
Don’t trust the videos and your own eyes; trust this ONE person.
🤦♂️
Why do taxpayers pay for this crap again?
Maybe write a story on that next…— Bert Difig (@BDifig) February 13, 2022
“Carvin reports groups with conspiratorial beliefs, anti-government and bigoted views have been trying for years to organize a convoy, but vaccine mandates helped to finally give their plan enough momentum in Ottawa,” according to NPR.
Not mentioned by NPR is that this “national security expert” has a history of supporting actual extremists. In January of 2021, she posted a thread complaining that a plan by the Canadian Parliament to make a list of terrorist groups might wind up ensnaring the extremists affiliated with Extinction Rebellion, Antifa and BLM.
“I worry about this in the context of comments made throughout 2020 by politicians that Indigenous Protestors, Extinction Rebellion, Antifa (which is not a group) or even BLM should be listed as violent extremists or terrorist groups. They could be voted on in the future,” she wrote.
Look:
There has been a lot of concern raised over Parliament voting on terrorism listings in Canada. I have a few thoughts on this and made a thread. First, and I think most importantly, it is GOOD that Parliament is paying attention and condemning far-right violence. #cdnnatsec

Antifa and BLM extremists wreaked havoc throughout the United States in 2020, vandalizing property, torching businesses, assaulting innocent citizens and literally killing people.
Extinction Rebellion meanwhile is a radical environmentalist group that spent much of 2021 breaking windows in the U.K.
Writing for the Abu Dhabi-based newspaper The National last April, Rabina Khan, a London borough councillor, described some of the group’s then-recent actions.
“Last week, Extinction Rebellion wielding hammers and tools labelled with ‘Love’ and ‘We Act with Love’ smashed at least 19 windows of the HSBC headquarters building in Canary Wharf, Tower Hamlets, the borough where I am an elected councillor and climate change campaigner,” she wrote.
“Of the nine women arrested and charged with criminal damage, none were from Tower Hamlets. Earlier this month, climate change activists smashed the windows of Barclays Bank headquarters, also in Canary Wharf. In 2019, Extinction Rebellion activists blocked the transport system in Canary Wharf by gluing themselves to trains.”

Yet NPR’s trusted “national security expert” apparently approves of this behavior.
For her own report, Subramanya spoke with dozens of actual protesters of various races, and she found zero extremism and bigotry among them.
“I have spoken to close to 100 protesters, truckers and other folks, and not one of them sounded like an insurrectionist, white supremacist, racist or misogynist,” she wrote last week for Bari Weiss’ popular Substack.
“They came from across the country. Vaxxed, unvaxxed, white, black, Chinese, Sikh, Indian, alone or with their wives and kids. They huddled around campfires. They set up pop-up kitchens and tents with block captains doling out coffee and blankets. They honked (and honked and honked). They blasted ‘We Are the World.’ And everywhere you looked, someone was waving the Maple Leaf.”
Some troublemakers have showed up, she admitted, pointing to a “handful of” people who’d “sported swastikas and Confederate flags,” but they’ve reportedly been rejected by the actual protesters:

Regarding the media-crafted claim that the protesters themselves are extremists, one Jewish protester, B.J. Dichter, had this to say: “I’m Jewish. I have family in mass graves in Europe. And apparently I’m a white supremacist.”
Apparently so indeed …
