Tucker Carlson revealed on Friday that a Democratic Congressman is using governmental resources to investigate Fox News to determine if his show has ties to Russia due to the television host’s recent statements questioning the narrative on the situation with Ukraine and Russia.

“We are not tied to Russia, of course,” the Fox News host said. “It’s a cable television program. He knows that. But that is not the point.”

“So in retaliation for that, [U.S. Rep.] Jim Cooper [D-Tenn.] has asked the intel agencies to dig up dirt on us,” Carlson said. “To be clear, that is not allowed. It is illegal to use the U.S. government to settle partisan scores or to silence opposition journalists.”

Carlson said Cooper “admitted what he did today when we asked him,” although he was “too cowardly to come on tonight to explain how he could justify that.”

Cooper apparently issued a statement indicating that “he has every right to ask whatever questions he thinks are important for strengthening American security during confidential House Intelligence Committee hearings.”

“This is scary behavior. It is also revealing,” Carlson said. “After a full year of governing, all the Biden administration could muster when challenged are ad hominem attacks and more spying from the intel agents. Let’s put the intel agencies on. What they can’t do is explain themselves. They don’t even try.”

“That’s not a sign of strength, it’s a sign of rot, it’s a sign of weakness. And yet they are doing it and they are getting away with it,” he added.

Carlson noted that the administration is getting away with it because it has become a “bipartisan effort” to “scream about Russia.”

Despite his assertion to the contrary, some still questioned whether the television host had ties to Russia and if he was spreading Russian propaganda.

Others noted the irony of the side that is complaining about Russia but also employs “Soviet-style” tactics whenever possible and many agreed that Cooper is misusing government resources.

Last week, Carlson mocked the media for their lockstep march to vilify Russia without considering that perhaps the United States has bigger fish to fry than an apparent conflict between the two nations, particularly when the Ukrainian president has indicated that he is not concerned about an invasion from their eastern neighbor.
