Kamala Harris amazed that electricity is silent, has no fumes: ‘How do I know it’s actually working?’

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is a champion of renewable energy but she may have the same level of practical experience with it as she has with the illegal immigration issue.

President Joe Biden’s border czar was visiting a government facility in Prince Georges County, Maryland, on Monday to receive a briefing on the electronic vehicle fleet there and to announce certain administration initiatives in that regard.

While the climate change activist and perhaps electric car czar was receiving a brief tutorial about how to charge a vehicle, Harris observed with amazement that “there is no sound or fumes.”

“We’re all used to filling our tank; we usually can smell it, and you can hear it, you can hear the guzzling sound — none of that. So, how do I know it’s actually working?” she asked, laughing.

The polite gentleman who was walking her through the process appeared to direct her attention to the control panel.

Harris punctuated the comments with her signature expression of mirth, which critics contend is inauthentic. Parenthetically, it has sometimes been said that liberals treat theories as real and real-world experiences as theories.

As alluded to above, as part of the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that is now law, the Biden administration wants to build half a million electronic charging stations throughout the country with an expenditure of about $7.5 billion.

According to a White House statement, “President Biden, American families, automakers, and autoworkers agree: the future of transportation is electric. The electric car future is cleaner, more equitable, more affordable and an economic opportunity to support good-paying, union jobs.”

“The administration has set an ambitious target of 50% of electric vehicle sale shares in the U.S. by 2030, but fast and reliable charging remains a key wrinkle,” Market Watch added.

In the meantime, the price of gas is soaring as inflation hits a nearly four-decade high.

Apparently, during the same photo op for which Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg also showed up, the gaffe-prone Harris — whose polls numbers have hit a speed bump such that rumors have emerged that she might even be replaced as VP — pretended to drive an all-electric bus.

“The wheels on the bus go ’round and round,’ Harris said, letting out a big laugh.”

“People who live in apartments…might not have a private driveway where they can install a plug,” Harris said Monday during the visit to the suburban D.C. location. “When we install public chargers, in rural, urban and suburban neighborhoods, we make it easier for people to go electric,”

With one unresolved crisis after another, some might say that the Biden/Harris administration is already running on fumes.

In this specific context, however, the consensus on Twitter seems to be that Harris should, metaphorically perhaps, stay in her lane.
