Virtually the entire American press reacted in abject fury and horror Friday when a British journalist made the mistake of pointing out that President Joe Biden was once again violating the mask rules that he so vociferously demands others abide by.

And the president was doing so despite his recent coughing fits, which he admitted on Friday was because he has an infectious cold.

“The president goes out: I was with the press pool, and we waited outside Imperfecto restaurant for him. My colleague @justinsink says he saw him inside the restaurant through a window, and the president was not wearing a mask. Outside, in front of the cameras, he wore one,” BBC News correspondent Tara McKelvey tweeted.

The tweet was posted at 9:21 pm.

Look:

The tweet provoked fire and fury, as well as mockery.

“Not sure how he was gonna eat through a mask, but go on …,” one critic wrote.

Nowhere in her tweet did McKelvey mention anything about the president eating. The president may have been walking around the restaurant when he was spotted.

In fact, both he and first lady Jill Biden were captured on video just two months ago walking around a Washington, D.C. restaurant unmasked as everybody else, including their servants, were masked.

At the time, D.C. had an indoor mask mandate. As of late last month, the mandate is no more, though the Biden administration has made it clear that it feels the mask mandate should have remained.

Biden is himself a loud advocate of masks and shamer of the unmasked.

The U.S. establishment press, which many critics argue is nothing but the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party, completely ignored the October violation. Instead they giggled over the president and first lady reportedly having a “date night.”

Similarly, the U.S. media appear to have no interest in holding Biden accountable for his latest violation, which, while not official (since the mask mandate has been rescinded), is still a violation of the rules that he expects others to follow.

Like a propagandist might do, they’ve instead taken to bashing McKelvey nonstop for daring to be the one person willing to perform real journalism.

Here’s a small sample of the nearly never-ending backlash from “journalists,” retired “journalists,” editors and other members of the establishment press:

The examples continue on, and on, and on, and they perfectly parallel the response from official Democrat Party activists and also members of Hollywood.

Of course, considering that the vast majority of establishment media “journalists” are registered Democrats, the argument could be made that they too are activists.

This might explain why, during former President Donald Trump’s presidency, the entire media pounced whenever he was seen without a mask — despite him, unlike Biden, being a vocal opponent of mask mandates:

  • NPR: “What It Means When Trump Doesn’t Wear A Mask”
  • CNN: “Here’s The Real Reason Donald Trump Didn’t Wear A Mask In Public In Arizona”
  • Vox: “Trump Takes Off His Mask At The White House In A Show Of Toxic Masculinity”
  • NBC News: “Trump Returns To White House After Leaving Hospital, Sheds Mask For Photo Opportunity”
  • The New Yorker: “At The White House, Trump Takes Off His Mask And Sends A Dangerous Message”

Like the angry tweets directed at McKelvey, the examples from 2020 go on and on. It was as if Trump could do nothing right. And now, a year later, it’s as if Biden can do nothing wrong.
