Team Biden is reportedly floating several ideas that some are describing as collectively constituting a “backdoor lockdown” that would assess monetary penalties on any entering traveler who does not comply with a mandatory, one-week quarantine. A testing regimen mandate for both similarly situated vaxxed and unvaxxed persons is also reportedly under consideration.
It could perhaps be a tacit admission by the administration that the COVID-19 jab may not be fully protective, at least for variants or mutations.
“If you have a negative test, if you’re vaccinated, what conceivable justification is there for even considering such a grave deprivation of liberty as forcing you for seven days to lose the core freedom of movement over a virus that we’re told there is an effective vaccine for,” progressive pundit Glenn Greenwald told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on his show Tuesday evening.
The proposals in question were apparently leaked to The Washington Post, the Democrat-friendly media outlet owned by Amazon billionaire and space cowboy Jeff Bezos.
If accurate, these initiatives purportedly contained in a draft order from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that are under review at the White House, President Biden is not gaining any more friends on social media.
According to a series of opinion polls, Biden, who has imposed on travel ban on several African countries after the emergence of the latest variant even though he previously criticized his predecessor for taking similar action, has seen his approval rating go into a downward spiral owing to numerous unresolved crises.
The Biden administration is preparing stricter testing requirements for all travelers entering the United States, including returning Americans, to curb the spread of the potentially dangerous omicron variant, according to three federal health officials.
As part of an enhanced winter covid strategy Biden is expected to announce Thursday, U.S. officials would require everyone entering the country to be tested one day before boarding flights, regardless of their vaccination status or country of departure. Administration officials are also considering a requirement that all travelers get retested within three to five days of arrival.
In addition, they are debating a controversial proposal to require all travelers, including U.S. citizens, to self-quarantine for seven days, even if their test results are negative. Those who flout the requirements might be subject to fines and penalties, the first time such penalties would be linked to testing and quarantine measures for travelers in the United States.
The Post article concedes, however, that this might be yet more theater:
“As a practical matter, state and local health departments are unlikely to be able to enforce requirements for additional testing and any self-quarantines once travelers arrive in the United States….Even if only a quarter of those travelers comply with the requirements, however, it would make a difference by allowing for more prompt detection and isolation of at least some infected people who might be able to spread the virus, said public health experts.”

As social media has highlighted, this is the same catch-and-release administration that has already allowed a massive number of illegal migrants to enter the country, reportedly regardless of their health or testing status.
In September, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas even admitted that about 20 percent of the illegal aliens arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border had an illness of some kind.
Greenwald, an American who lives in Brazil, offered additional comments during the aforementioned appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight.
“It is hard to express or put into words how divorced the discourse around COVID is in the United States from the science that we’re all supposed to follow…I feel like we’re being trained to simply accept the assertion of any authority in the name of safety without even questioning it any longer,” the intellectually honest, left-wing journalist insisted.
“I do think that at some point there’s going to have to be a serious show of collective civil disobedience. There’s really no way to resist assertions of government power that become abusive except by citizens banding together and refusing to obey them any longer. They cannot force people to do that if that happens,” Greenwald concluded.
As alluded to above, Twitter is weighing in. Here is a sampling:

So, the Biden Administration is going to place harsher rules on VACCINATED AMERICAN CITIZENS than unvaccinated illegal immigrants?https://t.co/x0Ea88mg5d

Quarantining & testing the vaccinated is a *very* clear admission that vaccines don’t prevent transmission/contracting the virus…which means his other vaccine mandates are pointless!!

What about all the thousands coming across the border, do they have to quarantine for 7 days get a vaccine or even get tested? Crickets….

If illegal aliens are simply allowed to cross the border, and then be moved around the country, then exactly how would testing travelers to US work? What would it do? If the border is not secure, then none of this testing matters at all. The science would support this.

Has he lost his mind? That’s basically telling US citizens don’t travel. People can’t take off from work for vacation and then take 7 more days from work for a quarantine.

As a Democrat, if Biden does this he most probably will have many of us in my industry out of a job. I will not forget in 2022 and 2024, this nonsense need to end. The unions better not even think of endorsing a Democrat if this comes to pass.

Basically cutting off travel .. you need a job with the federal government to take a vacation out of the country.
