MSNBC guest Elie Mystal: Whites care more about ‘using their guns on black people’ than kitchen table issues

MSNBC, a network that regularly traffics in racially divisive narratives, put forth a particularly distasteful one on Saturday.

Appearing on The Cross Connection, the “justice correspondence” for the far-left Nation magazine took the race card to the next level and in the process — and without evidence — demonized an entire demographic group.

Host Tiffany Cross teed it up for “our audience favorite” and her “pal” Elie Mystal by lamenting the U.S. Supreme Court last week heard oral arguments in a key gun rights case, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, and connected that to the Ahmaud Arbery case — a black man, Arbery was shot and killed when three white men tried to detain him after he was seen looking around in a home under construction.

“When I was watching this case, I thought about the Supreme Court Second Amendment case, and expanding gun rights, and I think about the three men who are accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery having more access to guns. It does not seem like a good combination,” Cross said.

“Yeah, I think it actually links up with your prior segment and the Biden press conference,” Mystal replied, “because, what the Democrats’ theory of the case is, is that the white, non-college educated voter cares about things like kitchen-table issues, like infrastructure, and pipes and how many gallons of milk you can put on the table.”

“I contend that what they care about is using their guns on black people and getting away with it. That’s what they want. That’s what they actually are in it for,” the Harvard Law School graduate and gun control advocate declared.

“Of course, the real crime of these people—in the eyes of liberals— is their tendency to vote Republican,” Newsbusters observed about the soundbite embedded above.

Both of them then bemoaned the racial makeup of the Arbery jury, with Mystal particularly disparaging “white males over 40 without a college degree” as if they were automatically insufficiently fair-minded to sit on a jury, which appears to be an ongoing theme on the liberal network.

According to NBC News, “Father and son Gregory McMichael and Travis McMichael armed themselves and pursued Arbery after spotting him running in Brunswick, Georgia. Their neighbor, William ‘Roddie’ Bryan, joined the chase and took cellphone video of Travis McMichael shooting Arbery three times with a shotgun…The three men have separate legal teams but are standing trial together, charged with murder and other felony counts. The defendants have said they thought Arbery was guilty of burglaries in the area when they chased him.”

In September, Mystal called for the Biden administration to “go buck wild” and, among other things, more or less deploy into Texas physicians willing to perform abortions in response to that state’s fetal heartbeat law, which is also pending in the Supreme Court.

Cross incidentally is the same pundit who proposed the renaming of the FBI’s Washington, D.C., headquarters building for Georgia voting rights activist and failed 2018 Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.
