Biden sets new COVID rules, will slap companies with minimum 14,000 fines per single violation: Report

The Biden administration has reportedly set both an official deadline and official penalties ranging up to nearly $140,000 per violation for President Joe Biden’s widely panned business vaccine mandate.

Set to be enforced by the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the deadline will require that large businesses with 100+ employees force employees who’re not “fully vaccinated” to wear a mask and undergo weekly COVID testing by Jan. 4th, at the latest.

The mandate will begin to go into effect on Dec. 5th, at which point businesses will be required to force “unvaccinated” workers to start masking up, according to CNBC. Not til Jan. 4th will the mandate go into full effect with the addition of weekly testing.

Violators of the mandate will face steep fines ranging from roughly $14,000 to nearly $140,000, according to a senior administration official.

“If there was a single citation, a single violation, a single issue that was wrong, $14,000 would be the approximate penalty. … If there were multiple items out of the standard that we cited, there would be, you know, multiple penalties that could be issued along with that,” the official said during a press call late Wednesday.

He added that if the administration determines “that an employer is willfully violating a standard, then that penalty is significantly higher than a workplace that is not willfully doing so.”

The penalty, in this case, would be exactly $136,532.

Some employers, including Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire, have already begun to fight back.

“The Dhillon Law Group, Inc. and Alliance Defending Freedom filed the legal challenge on behalf of The Daily Wire in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit,” the conservative news outlet announced Thursday morning.

In a statement, Shapiro’s business partner, co-CEO Jeremy Boreing, slammed the Biden administration for “their gross overreach.”

“President Biden, the federal government, social media, and the establishment media have conspired to rob Americans of their freedoms in the name of public health. They have broken faith with the American people through conflicting messaging, false information, and by suppressing data and perspectives with which they disagree,” he said.

This same sentiment was expressed on Twitter by Shapiro and several of his colleagues, including fellow conservative commentator Matt Walsh:

Shapiro further urged congressional senators to take a stand by voting “for a Congressional Review Act rejection of the OSHA rule.”

The CRA is a law that “enables Congress to disapprove a final rule issued by a federal agency,” according to George Washington University’s Regulatory Studies Center.

“A rule disapproved using this mechanism is not only nullified; the agency is also prevented from reissuing a ‘substantially similar’ rule in the future unless Congress authorizes it to do so via subsequent legislation,” the center notes.

Shapiro’s in luck. According to reports, over three dozen Senate Republicans have already begun “moving to formally disapprove and nullify” the president’s arguably unconstitutional vaccine mandate.

Spearheading the effort is Sen. Mike Braun, the top Republican on the Senate Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety.

Speaking with Fox News earlier in the week, he slammed the president’s “heavy-handed” government and noted that businesses have functioned just fine on their  own doing what’s necessary “to keep employees and customers safe.”

“Now, when we’re finally at kind of an equilibrium, you’re putting an ultimatum on them. Either get the vaccine or lose your job,” he said.

He added that the mandate will be “the single biggest disruptor in one fell swoop” to businesses as they stand to lose qualified employees who would rather lose their job than submit to vaccine coercion.

The tragic irony is that this will only further weaken the president’s already disastrous economy, thus making the Democrats even more vulnerable to being completely wiped out in 2022.
