Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn suggested Friday that the notorious SolarWinds hack that penetrated the entire federal government may be linked to the 2020 presidential election and thus the contested results of said election.

He also claimed that the intelligence agencies of other countries — presumably allies — were monitoring the 2020 election and are willing to share their findings with President Donald Trump

Solar winds is an is an entry point into the rest of our entire U.S. critical infrastructure, so everything that touches the United States government,” he began on Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight.”

Thus, he continued, the hackers were able to obtain the “keys to the vault,” per se, and “rummage around” freely through the government’s entire system.

When we talk about our election security, I think [therefore] that this is all part of it because there was a relationship between this SolarWinds attack, which has basically penetrated our entire critical infrastructure, as well as our election security,” Flynn added.

Flynn then suggested that “all of the egregious behavior that we have seen on our election security” could very well be linked to this “foreign interference” and revealed that certain foreign nations have “evidence” that might substantiate this theory.

We have direct evidence of foreign influence. We also have evidence now from other countries who have evidence. In fact, they were watching the attacks on our election system, our election process on the third of November, and they’re willing to provide that directly to the president,” he said.

Host Lou Dobbs replied by noting that “the reality is we don’t know the damage” and “we don’t know what has been comprised,” meaning America’s election system could have theoretically indeed been affected by the SolarWinds hack.

Earlier in the week Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy Peter Navarro released a 36-page report outlining multiple examples of alleged, inexplicable fraud, improprieties and irregularities in the 2020 election results.

“Indeed, the patterns of election irregularities observed in this report are so consistent across the six battleground states that they suggest a coordinated strategy to, if not steal the election, then to strategically game the election process in such a way as to unfairly tilt the playing field in favor of the Biden-Harris ticket,” Navarro wrote.

“If these election irregularities are not fully investigated prior to Inauguration Day and thereby effectively allowed to stand, this nation runs the very real risk of never being able to have a fair presidential election again – with the down-ballot Senate races scheduled for January 5 in Georgia an initial test case of this looming risk.”

Continuing his remarks, Dobbs added that the SolarWinds hack was so devastating that “there are reports that FBI agents are walking away from their computers because they’re beyond repair or remediation.”

Flynn replied by calling for the president to make “bigger decisions” by promptly recruiting his top officials to investigate the SolarWinds hack.

“There has to be bigger decisions by the president of the United States. He should pull in the Director of the National Security Agency, he should pull in the Director of Homeland Security, the Secretary of Defense,” he said.

“And he needs to pull these people in immediately and basically get from them what is it that’s happening and what do we need to do, what decisions does he need to make and is it all related.”

The discussion concluded with Dobbs asking Flynn “how soon can” the foreign nations he’d mentioned earlier “provide” their intelligence to the president.

“Well, I think that they’ll provide it directly to the president once we present the evidence to him through the legal process that we have. And they’re more than willing to do that, from what we understand,” Flynn replied.

He added that it’s then contingent on the president to do something, pronto, because this hack “is a direct intervention into our national security, into our ability to run our country the way we want to run it.”

“When we say a cyber attack, that’s exactly what it is. It’s like any other weapons system that is attacking us. Only in this case it’s through information, it’s through deception, it’s through theft of that information. So we have to really take this seriously,” he said.

“I think the team around the president needs to shore themselves up. I think that the political camps that we have in this country need to come together on this, because this is a very, very dangerous situation. We’re in a dangerous period of time right now for our country. I think that, in fact, the American people are more than willing to support whatever the president decides to do in this regard.”
