Oregon teacher’s screeching meltdown is the absolute definition of ‘unhinged’

A woman who describe herself as an educator confronted a group of anti-lockdown protesters in a verbal drive-by in Bend, Ore. “F— you, I’m a teacher,” she appears to scream, among other things, as she gave them the bird and then drove off. The video clip of the encounter has gone viral, closing in on 1 million views on Twitter as of this writing. Although her editorial commentary is not completely audible, she may have also pointed at one of the protesters and shouted, “b***h, kill yourself.”

The average American probably wants to go back to work with appropriate safety measures and resume some semblance of normalcy even as COVID-19 cases reportedly seem to be increasing in various areas of the country.

For some reason, however, teachers and their union representatives seem to be very adamant against any reopening for in-person instruction in their sector of the economy. Separately, the stay-at-home Chicago Teachers Union has even illogically claimed, in a now-deleted tweet, that the effort to reopen schools “is rooted in sexism, racism, and misogyny.”

Unlike private-sector workers who have lost jobs or income as business failed or were forced to reduce hours, teachers have continued to collect their full paychecks during the pandemic. Teaching has also increasingly morphed into a left-wing profession, with curricula pushing a divisive, identity-politics agenda.

Perhaps the nationwide emotionalism of the moment — or some people going around the bend, as it were — results from federal and state public health authorities and the media possibly conflating COVID cases with COVID positive test results. Although health is a very serious concern that should never be minimized, individuals in the latter category, especially if they are outside the high-risk cohort, may be asymptomatic or experience only mild symptoms.

In the meantime, both CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield and media star Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease,   have both said that K-12 schools aren’t super-spreader environments as long as officials implement safety protocols.

The clip posted by Twitter user Shane B. Murphy of the purported teacher experiencing what some have characterized as a meltdown is embedded below:

As you can imagine, the footage prompted other users of the social media platform to weigh-in in a big way. Here is a sample of the responses:
