Trump sucks Nancy Pelosi into the Cummings fight with 2 direct hits

President Donald Trump took to Twitter Sunday morning to remind the American people that, despite claims otherwise from congressional Democrats and their media allies, facts aren’t racist.

Trump posted the tweets in defense of what he’d written a day earlier about Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and his worn-down district. In a set of tweets posted Saturday morning, the president made the case that Cummings should spend less time haranguing America’s immigration officials and more time taking care of his crime-ridden, poverty stricken city.

In response, everybody from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the talking heads at CNN trotted out the race card by accusing Trump of being a racist who’d targeted Cummings because of his race.

The president argued otherwise on Sunday morning.

Check out his tweets below:

He wasn’t wrong about Pelosi’s peers calling her racist, nor was he wrong about Baltimore being a very troubled city that’s been plagued by filth and crime for decades thanks to the poor leadership of Democrats like Cummings.

Fact: Baltimore Is The Most Dangerous City In America

“Baltimore’s highest-ever per capita homicide rate in 2017 also made it the deadliest big city in the country,” The Baltimore Sun reported last year.

The report continued, “Though official data from the FBI won’t be available until later in the year, USA Today reviewed the homicide rates in the nation’s 50 largest cities and Baltimore came out on top. The 342 homicides the city experienced in 2017 were a 17 percent increase over the prior year, and translated to a rate of 56 killed per 100,000 people.”

Fact: Baltimore Is One Of The Worst Cities To Live In

“Baltimore is on a list of the worst American cities to live in,” local station WJZ reported in 2017. “A study conducted by 24/7 Wall St. reviewed data on the 551 U.S. cities with a population of 65,000 or more. It considered variables including crime rates, employment growth, access to restaurants and attractions, educational attainment and housing affordability to determine the ‘worst’ cities. Baltimore came in 14th on the list.”

Why such a high rating? Because of the “influx of drugs on the street,” the constant rise in violent crimes and the fact that almost a quarter of the city’s “population lives below the poverty line.”

Fact: Democrat Has Been Under Democrat Control For Nearly A Century

Baltimore has been under solid Democrat control for 77 years.

“The last Republican city council member in Baltimore City left office in 1942. That is 73 years of solid Democrat city councils,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich noted in a column four years ago. “The last Republican mayor of Baltimore City left office in 1967. That is 48 years of unbroken Democrat control of the mayor’s office.”

Meanwhile, Cummings, a Democrat, has represented Baltimore on the national level for 23 years. Prior to his arrival in 1996, the spot was held by Kweisi Mfume, another Democrat.

Bonus Fact: Baltimore Has a Lot of Rats

In his original tweets, the president spoke of Baltimore being a “disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess.” This too was trotted out by the left as an example of Trump’s alleged racism. Except that just last year, PBS ran a whole documentary about Baltimore’s rat population.

Originally produced in 2017, the documentary outlined the city’s notorious rat problem and further delved into how the city’s policies were responsible for it.

“In his critically-acclaimed directorial debut, Theo Anthony uses the rat to burrow into the dark, complicated history of Baltimore. A unique blend of history, science and sci-fi, poetry and portraiture, Rat Film explores how racial segregation, discriminatory lending practices known as ‘redlining,’ and environmental racism built the Baltimore that exists today,” the film’s description reads.

It continues, “What begins as an examination of our interactions with rats – portraits of rat-afflicted citizens, rats as test subjects in labs, the development of rat poison – becomes a deeper exploration of Baltimore. Anthony investigates the history of the city, and the systemic racism that established the low-income and predominantly black neighborhoods that are still plagued by rats today.”

Are any of these FACTS racist? If you believe so, then you might be either a liberal Democrat politician or a liberal Democrat member of the mostly Democrat media.

If you disagree, you might just be someone who believes facts still matter in this oftentimes fact-free world:
