Boycott Red Lobster goes viral and for every anti-Ingraham liberal …

During Fox News host Laura Ingraham’s first week back from Easter vacation, yet another advertiser ended its sponsorship of her show.

Red Lobster, the world’s largest seafood franchise, announced to TheWrap that it would no longer be advertising with “The Ingraham Angle,” though it failed to specify a reason why.

The Wrap noted that ads for Red Lobster stopped appearing during the host’s program last Thursday. Most assume the restaurant ended its sponsorship because of the ongoing boycott against Ingraham by Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting survivor David Hogg.

Days before Red Lobster’s announcement, Twitter users began haranguing the company for continuing to advertise on Ingraham’s show, claiming that it amounted to a tacit endorsement of her alleged “bullying” of Hogg:

Ingraham’s critics allege that the host bullied Hogg when she dared to accuse him of whining after he had complained about not being accepted into certain colleges.

An enraged Hogg subsequently launched a boycott campaign against her, vowing to essentially destroy her career unless she apologize to him. Though Ingraham later apologized, the power-hungry teen and his supporters continue to pine for her scalp.

While some might argue that Hogg is succeeding in his petty mission, the counter-evidence suggests otherwise.

For every anti-Ingraham liberal who took to Twitter to spout venom at Red Lobster prior its announcement, there were two to three Ingraham-supporting conservatives ready to boycott the restaurant afterward:

Ingraham likewise continues to dominate ratings, with the show having come in at the top spot for its time slot last week.

And at least one advertiser, Ace Hardware, has already returned to the show, announcing to the public last week, “The information we had at the time of the initial request [the boycott] was incomplete and we apologize for that.”

Perhaps the hardware retailer realized that Hogg’s boycott is both immature and dangerous, as Ingraham herself correctly noted during her first day back from vacation last Monday.

“This is the intolerant left in action,” she said. “Whether it’s striking voices from social media, or driving certain viewpoints on the airwaves. Beating people up, organizing boycotts, for perceived unforgivable offenses or preventing speakers from being heard on a college campus, it’s all coming from the same place.”

Correct.

“We will never relent. And we will never give in,” she added.

No, we won’t. Nor will we eat Red Lobster anymore, for that matter!
