Donald Trump Jr. offered an early lesson on socialism for his young daughter that had many progressives outraged.
The son of President Donald Trump shared a photo of his daughter, Chloe, dressed as a police officer and holding candy, with the caption “I’m going to take half of Chloe’s candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home. It’s never to early to teach her about socialism.”

Progressives, and anti-Trumpers, on social media attacked the tweet both for his spelling of the word “to” and for the message.
“Harry Potter” author, and avid opponent of the president, J.K. Rowling, was one of the most outspoken.
“Fill her bucket with old candy left by her great-grandfather, then explain that she has more because she’s smarter than all the other kids,” she wrote.

Having inherited all my candy, I’ll pass laws to take candy from as many poor kids as possible and give it to Chloe. https://t.co/95UZUbrDO1

Or, you could take 99% of the candy and give it to the richest kid on the block to teach her about crony capitalism.#WednesdayWisdom https://t.co/jQPa7cumM2

Giving to others less fortunate isn’t a bad thing, you greedy, selfish, self-absorbed SOB! https://t.co/Ul03SqEpWE

Classy.
Guy who has every advantage in life on the basis of nothing he has done lectures about “Socialism.” https://t.co/W5SD66Cghz

Jealousy is unbecoming.
Not all of Trump Jr.’s Halloween pictures were as controversial.
The family appeared to be mainly dressed as American heroes.
In addition to Chloe, 3, being a police officer, his sons Tristan, 6, and Spencer, 5 dressed as soldiers. And Trump Jr. dressed as his president dad, draped in the American flag.
It was not know what 10-year-old daughter Kai, or son Donald Trump III, 8, were wearing.
