Police are investigating a possible terrorist attack in Manhattan after a truck plowed into pedestrians on a bike path and gunfire was reported.

A motorist jumped the curb onto a bike path near the World Trade Center striking several pedestrians on Tuesday afternoon, the Associated Press reported.

CNN has reported that as many as six people have been killed in the attack.

The first reports came in around 3:20 p.m. local time.

Singer Josh Groban was among the witnesses and reported what he saw on social media.
