George H.W. Bush responds to actress who accused him of ‘sexual assault.’ Let’s just say — ‘wow’

Former President George H. W. Bush has apologized to an actress who accused him of sexual assault during a screening of her television show in 2014.

The actress, Heather Lind, 34, said the former president inappropriately touched her from behind as they posed for a photo at the screening of her AMC series “Turn: Washington’s Spies,” four years ago while his wife, Barbara Bush, stood beside him in his wheelchair.

“President Bush would never — under any circumstance — intentionally cause anyone distress, and he most sincerely apologizes if his attempt at humor offended Ms. Lind,” his spokesman, Jim McGrath, said in a statement to the media.

Lind said the president told her a “dirty joke” and “touched me from behind from his wheelchair with his wife Barbara Bush by his side,” in a now deleted Instagram post.

The actress said that the president’s staff told her she should not have stood next to him during the photo.

Reactions to the accusation and apology varied on social media.

Is that where it is at now? You want him in prison?

But the better question is …

A woman who is probably about to get a ton of publicity on the talk show circuit.
