Was ISIS telling the truth? Sheriff now says it’s possible: ‘did this person get radicalized unbeknownst to us?’

At a press conference on Tuesday, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said it was possible that Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock was radicalized.

“I want to understand the motivation that you described, okay, to prevent any future incidents, and, you know, did this person get radicalized unbeknownst to us?” he said. “And we want to identify that source.”

His statement came after the Islamic State issued two statements that claimed Paddock was one of its soldiers.

The terror group claimed that Paddock converted to Islam months ago and committed the deadliest shooting in American history for them.

“The Las Vegas attack was carried out by a soldier of the Islamic State and he carried it out in response to calls to target states of the coalition,” it said.

After the first statement from ISIS the FBI said there was no evidence to suggest Paddock was a radical Islamic terrorist.

But more questions have emerged after it was discovered that Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines where his girlfriend, Marilou Danley, was staying.

Danley arrived back in the United States on Tuesday and was met at the airport by the FBI who have describer her as a “person of interest.”

In an interview with Australia’s Seven News, Danley’s sisters insisted that their sister had no knowledge of what Paddock had planned.
