The left is shamelessly using the tragedy in Las Vegas that left 59 people dead to heighten the war they were already waging against legislation on gun silencers before Congress.
It started just hours after the tragedy when Hillary Clinton tweeted about silencers.
The baton was grabbed by leftist shill Chuck Todd on Tuesday during MSNBC’s “MTP Daily.” Todd used a clip from a video Donald Trump Jr. made last year promoting silencers and general gun safety.
“During the campaign, Donald Trump Jr. appeared in a promotional video for a company that makes gun silencers,” Todd said. “He praised the company’s product line, in part, because it might make guns easier for kids to use.”
The statement takes a seconds-long clip from a more than 40 minute video where Trump Jr. discusses the damage a gun can do to hearing and how the silencers can benefit children who might suffer hearing loss from using them.
The left’s obsession with silencers has nothing to do with the massacre in Las Vegas as the shooter, Stephen Paddock, did not use any.
And if he did they would have not been effective as silencers don’t make guns silent. Furthermore, with the rapid fire Paddock was using, a silencer would have melted.
What the left is aiming at is “The Hearing Protection Act” before the House that would make it easier to purchase silencers, which would still require a criminal background check.
As BPR reported in 2015, the left was fighting the legislation back then. And now the Democrat Party and its minions in the media are stepping over the bodies of the dead to wage war on legislation that would have not prevented one iota of the murder rampage waged by Paddock.
Their plan is not working, as the bill will still be voted on, according to the Los Angeles Times.
And they ought to be ashamed of themselves for attempting to use a tragedy, as they frequently do, to advance their agenda.
